This is an antique Surat area embroidery from Gujarat, Indian in sumptuous green and pink dyed silk. The pink silk is cochineal and the green is from a combination of indigo and a yellow bearing plant. The design is in a beautiful boteh design filled with small flowers and framed by long serrated leaves forming a column between each boteh.
