Henri Matisse. Etching. The reason I chose a Matisse drawing rather than a painting is because his drawings are much more intimate forms of expression. The simplicity of the lines and the drawing itself draws one's eyes to the facial expression of the woman, which is clearly affectionate. Matisse used his drawings as an informative to his paintings as a quick representation of the emotion of a certain idea.
