Medieval rings

A high carat gold medieval ring with decorations of berries and leaves, Europe, 14th century. weight: 1.7 grams 17 mm. 6 ½ US

An antique Gothic-style gold and almandine ring, probably Hungary, mid to late 19th century. The ring is engraved with Gothic-style, plaited foliage the head shows a similar pattern, enclosing a rectangular, faceted almandine in the middle.

This superb tubular bracelet closes with a clasp decorated with granulation--a hallmark of Hunnish craftsmanship--around a central round garnet. The backs of the hemispheres are decorated with a filigree. While Hunnish women also wore jewelry, the large size of this bracelet suggests it would have been worn by a man, high on the arm.
