While experiencing waves of grief and sadness, some memories are bringing me joy during the long days. Still laughing about this day at this gorgeous Korean palace, Changdeokgung. It was raining steady all day - but also stifling humid and hot. After so much built up excitement and anticipation, I faced 5 days packed with meetings, conferences, and a very tight schedule. We had no time to really explore my home country. Jet lagged and emotionally drained, I came home overwhelmingly sad. I didn’t want this trip to be my soul defining connection to Korea. But this wasn’t the end of my story. After an emotional but quick 5-day visit to Seoul last December, I’m so excited to share my next steps in my Korean adoptee journey. I’m heading back to Seoul this fall for my birth family search! I will be visiting my Korean adoptee agency to see my ORIGINAL adoption paperwork.
