New metal brackets are very inexpensive but can look so... well... new. With a few simple steps and a little paint you can make new brackets look like rusty, crusty, old ones. Just before the end of the year I painted a faux, wood plank wall in my Living Room. While I was working on it, I used a cedar board to measure out all of the "planks" for painting. I know I did a mercury glass tutorial before, but I decided to add a step this time to show you how you can make one that has some background color to it! Just in time for fall, this pumpkin shaped mercury glass vase is quick and easy! Add some nice flowers, and you will have a great centerpiece for your next autumn dinner party! For the most part you will only need a pumpkin jar and some mirror glass spray paint along with some mod podge and food coloring for a nice crackled color finish.
