William and Mary, late 1600's-early 1700's.

William and Mary Period: " The Age of Walnut". Gradual change from heavy straight lines to graceful curves; walnut, maple, oak, beech; Dutch and French influence; bun feet; introduced cabriole leg that terminates in cloven hoof foot (pied de viche); turning instead of carving; gate-leg tables; marquetry, veneering, lacquering. When made in America, poplar and white pine were used as secondary woods.
