Large medical models are changing how #healthcare works. A report by the Tencent Research Institute outlines how LMMs can improve health outcomes by helping doctors make clinical decisions, interpret diagnostic imaging, and customize treatment plans. Large models can also facilitate hospital management and accelerate drug development. Trust is fundamental to realizing the potential of LMMs, however. Every year, over 500,000 people in China suffer from cardiac arrest, a health crisis with a survival rate of less than 1%. The first four to six minutes are a crucial life-saving window, but professional medical teams often can't arrive that quickly. This is where the Tencent First Aid program steps in. Launched in 2006, our first aid initiative has trained more than 20,000 employees in life-saving techniques. Some 3,160 of them have gone on to become mobile first aid volunteers, and they have helped save 16 lives. To further strengthen these efforts, we have partnered with emergency call centers and local organizations to create Five-Minute First Aid Circles. These networks of community volunteers and hospitals aim to deliver emergency first aid within five minutes of a crisis. In Shenzhen alone, 300,000 residents have been trained in first aid skills, and responders have already assisted over 100 people in emergencies. We also developed products to connect all stakeholders, making the cooperation more efficient. Today, on #WorldFirstAid Day, we express our gratitude to the community organizations and #TencentVolunteers who generously give their time and skills, making a difference when it matters most.

We’re taking up the challenge for the Green Game Jam 2024, organized by the Playing for the Planet Alliance, which is facilitated by the UN Environment Programme. Studios will empower players to take actions to benefit the real-world environment.   Responding to this year’s theme of Small Actions, Big Impact, we have activated two games – PUBG MOBILE and Carbon Island – to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to sustainability. Time flies when you’re doing good! This year, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our annual public philanthropy event. What started as a one-day effort in China to make it easier for people to participate in charitable acts has blossomed into a year-round global initiative. Over a decade, a total of 230 million participants have supported 20,000 charities worldwide. Built on the idea of Internet + Philanthropy, our model uses technology to seamlessly connect people with the charities they wish to support, thus lowering barriers to participation and giving. Additionally, we have enhanced support for charities not just financially, but also in governance to foster greater trust in the program. In celebration of this milestone, we have renamed the event, from 99 Giving Day to Giving for Good, emphasizing that philanthropy is for every day, not just one day a year.
