Should I Lift Weights Before or After I Swim?
Should you do your strength training and then go swimming, or is it the other way around? Does it matter in which order you complete your workouts, or is it irrelevant in terms of your training success? Does swimming before a dryland session destroy your strength gains? It all depends on your training goal. Before we dive into that, let’s explore the pros and cons for either order!

✅The kick in swimming is not primarily for propulsion, but for balance and timing. ✅For most adults and triathletes, the kick is there to support and not to propel. ✅The arms, rotation, and coordination are more important for moving forward in swimming. ✅The effort level of the kick should be relatively low, focusing on balance and timing rather than power. 131K views · 11K reactions | Do you catch tons of water with your catch? If no, here is a tip how you can achieve it! 🆑 It’s clear that without a good catch, without pulling any water, you won’t make any progress. 👉 When talking about a catch our goal is to use only our hand and forearm at the start! In this case your can grab as much water as possible and then pull it all the way to the end.  ⛔️ If you pull with a straight arm, water will slip through your forearm, resulting in lower speed. ❔ How to do it? We have 3 steps in order to achieve perfect catch.  1️⃣ After you entered the water with your arm your first step should be keeping your shoulder close to your cheek. It will help you with keeping your arm straight and improve your rotation.  2️⃣ The next and most important step is to position your arm for the catch. Your elbow, similar to your knee, it can only open and close. If your elbow is in the wrong position, you will experience what we call a dropped elbow during the catch, causing water to slip through. To prevent it, rotate your elbow inward just before starting your catch so it points straight up. This allows your elbow to stay in the right position and begin the catch.    Important thing to mention is when your roll your elbow please keep your hand flat and don’t move it. Remember that we have to keep our hand always flat and don’t do any side to side movement with it. 3️⃣ The final step is to use only your hand and forearm. We don’t use our elbow because our goal is to grab as much water as possible. Later, you can use your elbow and shoulder to pull it! ✅ So, glide with shoulder close to your cheek, right before your catch roll inwards your elbow and then use only your hand and forearm to initiate the catch.  👉 If you want me to improve your technique and develop a personalized training plan to help you reach your goals, please comment ➡️”TRAINING” ⬅️below.
