Thistle Art

Thistle - national emblem of Scotland, and an ancient Celtic symbol of nobility of character. Also found in the Bible, Genesis 3:17-18. I love thistles as a symbol of the beauty that God can grow in us through the painful thorns of life.

Fiona Carvell PSA ASGFA on Instagram: "I have recently been thinking about PROCESS. About how I work, where my inspiration comes from and how I create. I am ideas lead, which stems from my background in design, but over the past 10 years as a working Artist, I have allowed exploration to influence and inspire me more and more. Exploration does not necessarily mean a physical journey to another place (although this does happen). Exploration can also mean discovering new textures, ways of communicating feelings, connections between objects and ideas. Exploration can mean ways of using materials, using colour, using line. #pastelartist #contemporaryart #contemporaryartist #drawing #softpastel #unisoncolour #inspiration #artisticexploration #sketching #sgfa #pastelsociety @pastelsociety.uk
