If you’re not a fan of using hair ties, and you find that rolling your sleeves can create unwanted bulk, especially with thicker fabrics, try this stylish sleeve hack. Like anything, the best way to shorten your sleeves depends upon the garment type, the fabric, your proportions and personal style preferences. 1. Create a wide cuff by turning the hem sleeve up to just below your elbow or where is most comfortable, although you want a significant amount of upturned fabric. 2. Fold or roll the bottom of the upturned sleeve again so that it meets the cuff of the sleeve. You can do this once or several folds (good with a shirt) You can leave it like this OR, 3. Flip/fold the cuff over and smooth in place. I find that this technique works best with denim jackets, faux/leather ones that have some stretch to the fabric and cotton shirts. Silky smooth shirt sleeves do not tend to stay in place as well.
