"This one-of-a-kind Christmas tree ornament is an original design that is carved from Wisconsin Basswood. The Elf's beard is carved with openings to allow light to filter through. Each is hand-carved using only hand gouges and carving knives to provide fine details and facial features that give the carving its own personality. During the carving process wood is also hollowed from the back to reduce its weight so that it hangs properly on any size tree. The ornament is hand painted using acrylic paints and antiqued with tinted wax giving the ornament an \"Old World\" appearance. To provide long-term protection the ornament is then top coated with satin lacquer and then signed, dated, and numbered by the artist. Each ornament has an eyelet threaded with natural twine for hanging.
