The writings of the twelve minor prophets are frequently overlooked and little understood. These ... more The writings of the twelve minor prophets are frequently overlooked and little understood. These writings reveal a great deal about the nature of mankind and the nature of God. The writing of these prophets takes place during the time when Israel had divided into two nations, ten tribes collectively known as Judah to the north and the remaining two tribes, known as Israel to the south.
The writings of the minor prophets were preparing mankind for the arrival of the Messiah.

With the fall of Adam and Eve into sin, that relationship was corrupted and God provided animal sacrifice as a covering and as a tool to teach mankind that the consequence of sin is death.
When God gave man the Mosaic law with its detailed explanation of sin, sacrifice, and priesthood, man was given the specifics of how to approach God. With the incarnation, those details and that relationship radically changed.
