West Bengal is a state of the Republic of India. Its capital is Kolkata. The state is bordered by ► Bhutan, and ► Sikkim to the north, ► Assam and ► Bangladesh to the east, ► Bihar and ► Jharkhand, and ► Nepal to the west, and Bay of Bengal and ► Odisha to the south. Together with Bangladesh, it makes up the ethno-linguistic region of Bengal.
বাংলা পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ভারতীয় প্রজাতন্ত্রের একটি রাজ্য। এর রাজধানী কলকাতা। রাজ্যটির উত্তর সীমানায় ভুটানসিকিম, পূর্ব সীমানায় আসামবাংলাদেশ, পশ্চিম সীমানায় ঝাড়খণ্ড, নেপালবিহার; দক্ষিণে ওড়িশা ও বঙ্গোপসাগর। বাংলাদেশ ও পশ্চিমবঙ্গ একত্রে একটি বাংলাভাষী অঞ্চল গঠন করেছে, যার ঐতিহাসিক নাম “বঙ্গ” বা “বাংলা”।
