Uploaded as own work with falsified EXIF data by a known copyright violator. The image appears to be a mirrored copy of an image from an obituary on The Guardian news website. The Guardian captioned the image as "public domain" but there are no details to explain why it reached that decision. The photographer isn't identified and the image isn't dated. As The Guardian is a UK publication, the "public domain" statement may only relate to the legal status in the UK; there is no indication why the file may be PD in the US. - Delete. Comparison to Guardian image shows it was mirror flipped. The uploader was apparently under the delusion that if he flipped copyrighted images found on line, the user could claim and license them as their own work [1]. Should we find a reliably sourced version of this photo that can be determined to be PD, no objection to uploading that - but I think it inappropriate to keep this flipped version created for express purpose of copyright violation. -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 02:26, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
