UK FOP requires that the work be permanently located. These were taken while the work was in a temporary home (see reference to temporary planning permission for a site on the Mall) it has now been moved to a permanent home where it can be freely photographed.

  • Keep And the problem is? I've no idea what FOP means. Where I reside, in the USA, if the statue is in public grounds, or I shoot from public places, as is the case here, then there is no problem. As I do not frequent Commons, but work mostly in en.wp, I am not familiar with the finer details of these regulations but if you ask me, it makes no sense. -- Alexf (talk) 03:35, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
FOP = Freedom of panorama which in a nutshell is a rule that alows you to take images of copyright items (such as Sculptures), The UK, along with most countries that have a Freedom of panorama rule only extends this to works permanently located in a public place and in fact as for the USA there is no Freedom of panorama for Artworks and sculptures see Commons:FOP#United States. All photos which you suggest to remove, it not simple artworks images, it monuments to Gagarin. Besides any of them isn't located in an area of coverage of your national British legislation.--Doctor Alex Moscow (talk) 20:15, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Lovely. I am not going to make a political comment on this, but as a photographer you can guess what my opinion is. Thanks for the info. -- Alexf (talk) 12:47, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I almost walked away from Wikipedia, so do not take an active role in the discussions. It would be a pity if the photo will be removed. Жабыш (talk) 04:37, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • These photos are used in the Russian segment of Wiki in articles about Gagarin. I don't advise even to try to delete them if you don't want serious scandal. Their placement doesn't break any Russian laws and if there is a conflict to the legislation of other countries, it is their problems. Let don't place these photos in the national segments. The last photo (from Crete) belongs to me, I personally placed it on Wiki as it is the most southern monument to Gagarin in Europe. The owner of the museum Homo Sapiens didn't object to such placement. Other monuments in the state or municipal ownership of Russia. --Doctor Alex Moscow (talk) 19:51, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Проблем здесь нет, не удаляйте фотографии. --Анна Астахова (talk) 10:45, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

All these are located in areas without FoP and therefore need consent of the statue/monument owner

Deleted: except for 1. British case is a false issue. The statue is in any case available in another publicly accessible place, not a private house or gallery. As for the Russian exception is a DM being the photograph focused on the event, not on the statue. SERGIO (aka the Blackcat) 13:03, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
