These are in no way PD-SIMPLE, and so are copyright violations.

Keep File:Green-gel-x.png, if the nominator looked at the image they would see it's merely reminiscent of the packaging, but nothing--not the typography, nor the precise gradients--are in any way from the Xbox logo. Keep: I vote to keep. The American threshold of originality is comparatively high (Microsoft is an American company), and this simple design consisting of only an X, a sphere, and a simple wordmark is not original enough (I believe) to merit copyright under U.S. law. For other similar cases, all of which have been established as public domain due to lack of originality, please see the Boeing and Ford logos. Trademarks still apply to all of these logos, of course. Keep: Я думаю нужно оставить файлы: File:Logo Xbox One.png, File:Xbox 360 Logo.svg, File:Xbox 360 symbol.svg и File:Xbox one logo.png, т.к. они являются логотипами к игровым консолям. I think the 3D orb with the indented X is probably enough for copyright. It's all the other small effects in there, for me. That said, File:Green-gel-x.png looks like someone else's work and is not claimed to be PD-ineligible; I don't think it belongs in this review so Keep that one. File:Xbox logo 2012.png actually lacks all the other details and is just an X in a circle; I think that falls back below the threshold (compare File:Graceland S logo.jpg which was ruled ineligible). Delete for all files except File:Xbox logo 2012.png and File:Green-gel-x.png. These all have 3D-Xbox icons, which are too much. File:Xbox logo 2012.png is only a circle with a white X, so I don't think that it's not copyright eligible. Delete many but maybe not all. I would recommend that you take a look at http://www.ipmall.info/hosted_resources/CopyrightAppeals/2006/CCC%20Logo.pdf where you see two logos on page 1. The first one (without border) isn't eligible for copyright whereas the second one (with border) was found to be eligible for copyright. I would say that some images, such as File:Logo Xbox One.png, clearly are more complex than the logo with a border in that PDF file. --Stefan4 (talk) 22:12, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Delete except for File:Xbox logo 2012.png (meets PD-SIMPLE) and File:Green-gel-x.png (non-copyrighted work). As a few others have said, the others are too intricate, even for US standards. Logos with 3D effect and gradient would exceed the COM:TOO US.

Keep. Examples at COM:TOO US include gradient-based 3D effects. The Discover Card is the best example of this. Because the 3D effects are applied to a single letter, I think this is below the threshold of originality. IronGargoyle (talk) 11:51, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
