Description
Nederlands: “De reizen van Lao Can (Oud Afval)” is een chinese roman van Liu E (1857-1909) gepubliceerd in 1907, waarin hij de boksersopstand beschrijft op het platteland, het verval van het controlesysteem van de Gele Rivier en de incompetentie van de bureaucratie. Deze sociale satire toont de grenzen van een oude elite en ambtenarij en geeft een goede kijk op het dagelijks leven op het platteland in de late Qing-periode.
