Image deletion warning | Image:Tsavo Maneaters Field Museum.jpeg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

What is the real name of the saint ... it:San Fernando? it:San Bernardo? What you put down doesn't make sense. Evrik (talk) 19:38, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well, you wrote "Bernando" not "Bernardo." Which San Bernardo is he? What is the main church of Canzo called? Also, is this correct: 45.85 Evrik (talk) 16:00, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- It's not "a type." Reading the Italian article doesn't identify which Bernard it is, nor what the main church is, nor its exact location. If you don't know the answers, that okay ... I'll make some inquiries. BTW, the misspelling Bernando is also in the italian Canzo article. Evrik (talk) 16:29, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks for cluttering up my page. Well, I guessed at the location and at which saint it was. I also took a guess at the name of the church. I left the italian alone. Evrik (talk) 17:59, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Glyptodont
editThe image you and me are editing simply says it depicts a "glyptodont", not a Glyptodon. Glyptodont can refer to any genus within the glyptodontidae family, so unless you know for certain that it is Glyptodon specifically, and not another glyptodon, please don't add the category. FunkMonk (talk) 15:47, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- So what do you base it on? FunkMonk (talk) 23:33, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
edit
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 10:40, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

--User:G.dallorto (talk) 16:39, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

E-mail complaint
editI have sent you an e-mail regarding your spontaneous one-week block over at Italian Wikipedia. Have you received this e-mail? I'm inquiring here because you you to pursue me to Esperanto Wikipedia to engage in further unmotivated reverts. Since you blocked me at Italian Wikipedia not just from articles, but even from editing my own talkpage, I'm raising the issue where I know you are actually active.
I have attempted to be clear and open about my motivations for replacing or removing the macaque selfies in certain articles. Please acknowledge that you have actually read my motivations and explain why you are reverting them.

- Keeping the discussion in one place:
- Because I would see how far are you going with your POV campain.--Bramfab (talk) 14:36, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[1]
- What does this have to do with any of my questions? How am I engaging in a "POV campaign"? Have you seen these discussions?[2][3][4][5] There is no general support for the idea that any Commons image can be used everywhere no matter what. So how exactly are you neutral in this matter? You haven't even explained your position, only that you oppose me. So far, you've acted been quite belligerent.
- Peter Isotalo 15:19, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- This is just your POV that you are pushing everywhere --Bramfab (talk) 15:30, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- Uh-huh. So have you seen these comments and edits?[6][7][8] Are all of those just "pushing their POV everywhere"? Last I checked, suggesting alterations to articles is how we develop Wikipedia. And, again, what is my POV and why is it a problem? What's your position in this and why would you be justified to block me without warning and ignore me?
- Peter Isotalo 15:44, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- Because you are POV pushing, acting as POV pusher, the (worlwide) general consensus (that does non imply 100% of people) is that those pictures are good for wikipedia and can be used in the article, they are notable and relevant (if you like or not they becomes a piece of the history of photography as the first selfie of pope with children) and are selfie (selfie is a new-word coming from internet as comes from the internet the inclusion of these monkey selfies in the selfie category!).
- You can argue against these for months in a on forum, but in wiki we are in case of black/white (binary) condition (take or reject those) and you have to accept the consensus decision and not damage the encyclopedia with destructive edits. --Bramfab (talk) 16:33, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but your misrepresenting of my intentions are quite unfounded. You are assuming that I am 1) against any use of these images and 2) that I have tried to remove images from every article in my path. Neither is true. I was perfectly aware of the image in Macaca nigra I didn't remove it because for a reason; it at the very least had text to explain it. Take a look at the German selfie talk page. Notice the discussion? The lack of mute edit wars? No assumptions of bad faith and "POV pushing"? At it.wiki didn't just forego discussion, you didn't even follow normal blocking procedures. According to your own recommendations you treated me like you would when someone was spewing profanities or a "problem user". From my perspective, your block appears quite punitive, not preventive. Blocking someone for a single revert is a pretty extreme measure. Doing this to someone you are in a dispute with isn't kosher.
- I've provided you with numerous diffs of discussions that clearly show my motives. You're welcome to check those out. Lecturing me about a "(worldwide) general consensus", however, isn't going to get us anywhere. I urge you to lift the block you meted out and engage in normal consensus discussion so we can resolve this.

Tue ultime immagini caricate
Vedremo in settembre. Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2022 voting is open!
editRead this message in your language
Dear Wikimedian,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 1 will end on UTC.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

editCiao! 19:14, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Syrio Ciao e grazie dell'avviso, non me ne ero accorto. C'è modo girarlo in Commons oppure ricaricarlo? e tal caso come faccio a sovrapporlo ? ... Non sono molto pratico di Commons ... (:-( . Bramfab (talk) 06:37, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
07:03, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- Grazie, non ci avevo mai fatto caso. Bramfab (talk) 07:07, 5 October 2023 (UTC)

Grazie per aver partecipato a WikiLovesMonuments 2023 - Italia
edit(English version available here)
Wiki Loves Monuments 2023 in Toscana

editBuongiorno Bramfab ricevi questo messaggio perché in passato hai partecipato a concorsi fotografici come Wiki Loves Monuments Italia o Wiki Loves Earth Italia.

Cordialmente. Danielik (talk) 12:26, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
Bramfab (talk) 14:23, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
