Other request

Hi! I was hoping if you can change the licence in the images of this category. All images were uploaded by me with CC licence... however, a user of Enciclopedia Libre asked me if I can change the licence to a GFDL one because CC can't be used at EL. You just have to replace {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}}. Thanks --B1mbo 14:12, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

I post the message about deleting the Image:Interstate 8 (California).svg and Image:Interstate 110 (California).svg. By the way when will they be delete, because I post this message at November 26. --SWCoast 90 20:53, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi O,

We badly need Chinese translations for the upcoming Picture of the Year competition. Would you be able to translate some messages, or please pass this request on to Chinese language communities?? Voting opens on January 10th.

thanks! pfctdayelise (说什么?) 07:46, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

You closed my undeletion request and referred me to the deletion guidelines.

I request that you read them yourself. They state that appeals of previously-closed deletion requests are to be done in the undeletion area. Since I was appealing a previously closed deletion, I chose to comply with the guidelines and do that in the undeletion area.

In your initial comment, you said you wanted the image to be removed. 哦, 是吗?(User:O) 00:36, 10 December 2007 (GMT)

Hi!

I am afraid I completely disagree with the method (not necessarily with the result!) of your closing of that deletion request. The deletion debate has been quite evenly split with relevant arguments on both sides, some of the commenting users seem to have some degree of knowledge of the respective laws. Then, you come, add some other, IMHO completely irrelevant “argument” and close the deletion request because your argument is decided correct (by you, of course). Are you some specialist on copyright law or something?

IMHO, the closing admin should not present new arguments (and definitely not his own ones), (s)he should only weigh the votes and arguments in the debate and decide upon that. If you want to add your opinion, you can, like every other user: into the discussion.

P.S. Note that I am an admin here, too, so that I could possibly do the same like you: add my opinion that the image should be deleted, and immediately close the request as “deleted”. Do you think it would be correct (while it would lead to the exact opposite result)?

--Mormegil 22:11, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

No; the norm is that if a debate has no consensus, the result is an automatic keep unless it gets nominated for deletion again, for which that decides what happens. The closing comment was not me; it was the last commenter's plus some others in the discussion. 哦, 是吗?(User:O) 22:15, 12 December 2007 (GMT)

Your first sentence exactly describes my opinion (as I said, I object against the method, not necessarily against the end result): the closing comment should have been “kept, no consensus to delete reached” (or something similar), not “kept, User:Timur lenk is correct, the rest are wrong” (or what was that comment of yours) – I don’t think you are in a position to decide who is correct in complicated copyright issues. (And note that you did not just repeat the opinions raised: your point that “the Czech Republic cannot unilaterally inherit something from Czechoslovakia unless Slovakia later merged into the Czech Republic” is not only nonsense, it is also irrelevant, as you don’t need two copyrights, one copyright claim is good enough. The last user’s opinion was much more subtle than that.) --Mormegil 22:35, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Some of the keep comments were a lot more convincing than, for example, the second delete comment (which was a vote). Another reason why I had phrased it as such is because your delete comment was successfully contested and overturned by consensus. My closing statement should basically sum up the last two keep comments, on how neither Slovakia nor the Czech Republic are successors to Czechoslovakia, and how the banknote is not valid anymore.
By the way, I was only helping clear a DR backlog that went all the way back to July. 哦, 是吗?(User:O) 22:49, 12 December 2007 (GMT)

I don’t think it would be any good to continue discussing this deletion request here (although I disagree with you completely), so that let’s close this talk. (Clearing backlog is, of course, a good thing to do, even though I believe such “no consensus” requests could be left alone, even indefinitely.) Good luck with your work. --Mormegil 22:57, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

500 edit requirement?

Hi O... Hope all is well. See Commons talk:AutoWikiBrowser... I may have goofed. That's a page that wasn't there before so I thought I'd drop you a note here but discussion probably should be there, eh? Cheers. ++Lar: t/c 17:05, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

following up

Have you thought about the category naming for Yuyuan Gardens vs. Chenghuang Miao that I brought up back in November? --BrokenSphere 19:10, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

replacement for Information template

Hi. I have noticed that some pages use the wrong template "Information:" instead of the correct one "Information". Could you please therefore replace the string "{{Information:" with "{{Information" ? I have made some corrections by hand, but got tired of it. Frédéric 20:51, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Yup, after I login to the toolserver and update... 哦,是吗?(User:O) 01:00, 17 December 2007 (GMT)

again on Information template

Hi O, thanks a lot for your work on my previous post. I have found another similar problem. In the page Image:Franklin Model 9-B Sedan 1922.jpg for instance, there lacks the "{{Information". There are nearly 200 pages like that just for this user, and probably for some others. So if you could please replace

"== Summary == |Description ="

by

"== Summary == {{Information |Description ="

that would solve the problem, without causing too much new problems. Sometimes the | is missing in front of description, maybe you can handle this also. And tell me if I should bother somebody else. Frédéric 20:57, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
