Australian soldiers Dili 2000
  • Historical? The nominated images are promotional images of the U.S. military, do not depict historical events, nor do they show striking features of the places. The DRs are not random, because there are pictures of local politicians that can be used for Wikimedia projects, but what do you want to illustrate with this? These are simple pictures of troops visiting other countries, without any special meaning. Historical images are, for example, soldiers patrolling the streets of Dili as part of UN missions, as in this image of the Australian military. The DR is not against the U.S. military, only against the usability of these meaningless images. But perhaps the uploader can suggest where these images can be used in Wikimedia. The images are the real dumping, not the DR. --JPF (talk) 15:04, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep The only thing of interest here is the copyrights. And these are clearly settled with {{PD-USGov-Military-Navy}}-Licence. (As a work of the United States government, this file is in the public domain). The applicant's personal tastes are completely irrelevant. Equally irrelevant are his personal reflections on the content of the image and his suspicions about the future usability of the image on Wikipedia. These are all not valid commons deletion criteria. Furthermore, I fully agree with the statements regarding pointless deletion requests by User:Multichill--Ciao • Bestoernesto 01:03, 30 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
