This file was initially tagged by Ahecht as Copyvio (copyvio) and the most recent rationale was: If this is based on the version adopted 29 April 2019, as indicated in the edit summary, {{PD-UKGov}} does not apply.

Obviously, a speedy deletion is not acceptable in this case, as we are dealing with a file with very extensive use. This requires discussion. Fry1989 ^eh? 21:32, 16 September 2024 (UTC)

 Info:

• The current versions of the coastline and the water were uploaded in March 2006 with the comment "Improved version, e-mailed to uploader by author of xrmap, size quadrupled, PD". The xrmap README file indicates that the flag is originally from Openclipart. I only found one Saint Helena flag there from 2010 (https://openclipart.org/detail/61147/saint-helena).
• The current versions of the ship and the bird were uploaded in May 2019 and apparently were based on https://www.sainthelena.gov.sh/st-helena-government-adopts-updated-coat-of-arms/ . The images on that page don't load and it doesn't contain licensing information other than "The Shield can be used on souvenirs, other products, websites, and for promoting St Helena generally."
• The St Helena Government website has a page for the flag (https://www.sainthelena.gov.sh/st-helena/st-helena-flag-2/), but it doesn't contain licensing information either.

 Comment I have also spoken with Zscout370, who uploaded one of the most recent versions based on a document they received from the St. Helena Government. Yes, I was contacted by Fry1989. In the emails I have sent back and forth to the St Helena Government, I did not ask about licensing. I honestly believe that what we need to do is revert back to the pre-May 2019 version from xrmap and forbid reuploads of the newer arms until we get clarification from the government.
