suspect to copyright violation. Because of Getty Images label on this link https://www.bbc.com/persian/iran-56348616.Shkuru Afshar (talk) 12:16, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I nominated this image for deletion because of Getty Images label on the link. File:AS17-140-21496.jpg has NASA source and should be copyright free. But on this link https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/60677041 Getty Images label in on the picture. It is confusing that a Getty Images picture is copyright free. So, I am not sure if File:Reza Shah portrait.jpg is copyright free or not.Shkuru Afshar (talk) 23:38, 14 March 2022 (UTC)f[reply]

  • Keep. This 1920s photograph has been published thousands of times in Iran and there is no reason to think that it is protected by copyright. And Getty Images does not claim copyright, it is just selling a high quality version of the picture. I added a book printed in 1942 to prove public domain, though I don't think it was necessary for a vote to keep it. HeminKurdistan (talk) 14:17, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: Getty have been known to claim PD photos as their work. --Gbawden (talk) 13:04, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
