English: This map shows all countries where the Arabic alphabet has some official use.
 
Arabic is the sole official script.
  • Mid-dark green: Arabic is the only official script, but other scripts find recognition. [no longer used]
 
The Arabic script is official alongside other scripts.
 
The Arabic script finds some recognition, e.g. as a script for a provincial official language, or as a secondary script of the national language.
