Object history
Deutsch: Zwischen 1911 und 1917 nahm die Gemeinde ein überladenes Bild in ihre Stempel auf. Der geteilte Schild zeigte über einer Ortsansicht schräg gekreuzt ein Schwert und einen Abtsstab, überdeckt mit einem Schildchen mit den württembergischen Hirschstangen. Eine durchgehende gestürzte Sparrenleiste wies darin auf den Kocher und die Lein hin. 1956 legte die Gemeinde das jetzige Wappen fest, das ihr samt der Flagge am 26. November desselben Jahres vom Innenministerium verliehen wurde. Der Abtsstab erinnert an den Ortsnamen sowie an die Kloster- beziehungsweise Stiftsherrschaft Ellwangen, während die drei roten Kugeln dem Wappen der Hack von Wöllstein, die hier ihren Burgsitz hatten, entnommen sind.
