English: The arms were granted on July 6, 1889. They are derived from a seal from 1371 with three eagles on a shield seeded with crosses, thereupon a bendlet. After the division of 1508 between Leiningen and the Prince-Bishopric of Worms the arms show the bendlet to separate the eagle from the key of Worms, both parts seeded with crosses. Nowadays the bendlet is no longer shown. |
