Object history
Deutsch: Der Widderkopf, eine für Rammer (Schafbock) redende Figur, stammt aus dem Wappen der Herren von Ramsperg, die um 1330 die im Gemeindegebiet liegende Burg Neurandsberg erbauten. Die drei goldenen Kugeln verweisen als Attribute des heiligen Nikolaus auf das Patrozinium der Pfarrkirche von Rattenberg. Die Tingierung in Silber und Blau erinnert an die Grafen von Bogen, zu deren Rodungsland Rattenberg gehörte, und die Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts darauf folgende wittelsbachische Herrschaft.
