H y a desdegrés dans la beauté et, par suite, dans ladmiration; lenthousiasmede M. Waagen la trompé. Hélène Formann est, en effet, un splendideportrait; mais le Chapeau de paille restera comme une de ces œuvresqui atteignent les dernières limites de lart, — rappelons, en passant, labelle gravure qnen a fait M. On a eu raison de reconnaître Rubenset Hélène dans les deux personnages aux prises. La Pinacothèque deMunich possède une répétition de ce tableau, qui provient de la Collec-tion Gaufiier, en 1781.
