Français : La photographie anonyme de la Percée de l’Avenue Monterey 1869 est un souvenir phare du démantèlement de la forteresse de Luxembourg. Une douzaine d’ouvriers et d’ingénieurs prennent la pose avant la percée définitive. On ne voit que les toitures de la ville, notamment celle du bâtiment du Génie (la future poste) qui se cache encore derrière les derniers vestiges du rempart, alors que le Ravelin Camus de 1674, dont subsistent les contreforts et les masses importantes de remblai, vient de tomber.
Il s’agit de la première photographie à Luxembourg qui met en scène un groupe de personnages en plein air (source). |
