Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The heatwave affecting parts of France is likely to trigger a drought in several areas of the country and threatens to damage agricultural crops. France is in fact experiencing a deficit in rainfall since the beginning of 2022: at the scale of the entire French territory, in April, the cumulative rainfall deficit value reached 35%. This triggered various drought alerts across the country, resulting in water restriction measures being imposed in 10 “départments”. The départments where rainfall deficits have risen above the threshold for drought alert are Maine-et-Loire, Vienne, Deux-Sèvres, Charente-Maritime, Charente, Ain, Drôme, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône and Vaucluse.
