Description
English: The Polish War Memorial close to the Scottish village of Ormiston was erected during World War II by Polish soldiers of the 10th Supply Company, part of the 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade and 1st Polish Armoured Division, who were based in Ormiston Camp (near to the ruins of Ormiston Manor), East Lothian, Scotland. The date of 15th August 1942 inscribed on the memorial either side of the crests of the Polish Eagle and Scottish Lion Rampant is significant as it is comemorated as Polish Soldier’s Day. The Scotch Mist Gallery contains photographs of historic buildings, monuments, memorials and people of Poland.
