English: The Famous Russian Tavern is housed in this three hundred year old village inn, The Port Royal, on the seashore at Port Bannatyne on the unspoilt Scottish Isle of Bute, PA20 0LW Run by a Russian family for ten years the Tavern has a high reputation for serving the seafood landed on the pier just outside, fine Russian specialities, local Real Ales direct from the cask, and a wide selection of imported Russian beers, wines and vodkas. There are four inexpensive guestrooms. Port Bannatyne Marina is just 50 metres and Port Bannatyne Golf Course 100 metres. Count Nikolai Tolstoy on a weekend visit declared "This is the finest Beef Strogonoff I have tasted...EVER!" Reputedly in the top five affordable restaurants in Scotland. The scenery from the Tavern across the water to the Argyll hills is truly stunning.
