Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A U.S. Navy Fletcher-class destroyer underway, in 1944-1945. Although the hull number identifies this ship as USS Benham (DD-796), Benham was painted in Camouflage Measure 31, Design 2C, whereas this ship wears a much weathered 31/6D. Also, the hull number appears very clear in contrast to the rest of the paint. It may be that this ship is USS Monssen (DD-798), which wore 32/6D, and the hull humber was incorrectly put on the photo on a later date.
