Open Carry Map

[edit]

Can you change the open carry map to make Illinois Permissive Rural Carry? --Thegunkid (talk) 04:00, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not without a reliable source that says so.Terrorist96 (talk) 04:09, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stand your ground law map

[edit]

I would like to enquire if you still have copies of the older versions of the map listed at this URL: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Stand-your-ground_law_by_US_jurisdiction.svg#mw-jump-to-license I noticed that this map's revisions only go so far back as to when Missouri passed a stand your ground law: the older revisions of the image included don't show when Missouri was listed as a castle doctrine state or before then. If it's okay with you and you still have the older copies, I would love to see said copies. The reason is that I would love to incorporate this into some argumentative points in favor of gun rights, if possible. It would also help me understand the rise of stand your ground laws (this map is very high-quality and unique). If not, then thank you for your time. MrThunderbolt1000T (talk) 04:36, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Sorry, I don't have any older versions. The date of first upload is when I first made the map. I'm sure you can find articles documenting the history of the enactment of such laws. You may also be interested in other maps. See the Constitutional carry page for example.Terrorist96 (talk) 14:24, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Was there a map similar to yours under the US section? I seem to recall there being a similar map with Missouri listed as a castle doctrine state on the page. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can remember such a map. If so, do you know where I could find said map? Thanks for the reply. MrThunderbolt1000T (talk) 17:26, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, I don't believe so. You can go back in the history and see. I added the map on January 12, 2017. There was no map prior to that. Terrorist96 (talk) 21:43, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello.

In File:World Speed Limits.svg, can you add South Sudan which is still shown as part of Sudan from which it seceded in 2011?

Thank you.

31.200.11.49 20:28, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm not the best person to address this. I previously added the hidden category of Maps needing South Sudan political boundaries. Terrorist96 (talk) 21:05, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I understand. Also, any information about that war-torn country is very hard to find, whatever the topic - let alone speed limits which I couldn't find. That is why South Sudan is often left blank in many maps, when its borders are drawn. 31.200.11.49 21:50, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I want to try one last request. Can you color territorial units? No border drawings are required. For instance, the maximum speed limit in the Svalbard archipelago is 80 km/h, which requires the color red. Currently the islands are colored in gray, which are categorized as having no information. Here is a source from the official website of the Governor of Svalbard: https://www.sysselmannen.no/en/Residents/Motorized-traffic/ 31.200.11.49 17:04, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'll look into it when I get to my computer.Terrorist96 (talk) 02:30, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Second Amendment Sanctuary counties.svg

[edit]

Hello. On the 13th of January, 2020, Habersham County, Georgia became a Second Amendment sanctuary. Please consider adding it to the vector image of the United States.

Thank you for your hard work.

@TheOfficialCzex: Hi, thanks for the note. I will add it to the map in my next update within the next few days. Regards. Terrorist96 (talk) 00:07, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the update; however, Stephens County has now followed suit. You may have a stream of updates on your hands if this keeps going.

Best.

- Czex TheOfficialCzex (talk) 21:54, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, yes an update is coming tonight. Terrorist96 (talk) 22:59, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find evidence that Marquette county, Michigan approved any kind of sanctuary status. It is shown on the map as if it has been approved. If the map is indicating which counties have reaffirmed the 2nd amendment without any kind of sanctuary status, then the description should indicate that more clearly. https://www.uppermichiganssource.com/content/news/Marquette-County-Board-of-Commissioners-reaffirms-support-for-Second-Amendment-567184681.html Scottk (talk) 14:56, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Scottk: Hi. This has come up before and we decided that it is not worth the time to try to distinguish every single resolution adopted by each county. Some counties include the word "sanctuary", some use "safe haven", some just indicate support for the Second Amendment, and there are many more variations too. Since virtually every resolution adopted is unique to that county/city/town/etc., it is not feasible to try to distinguish all the nuance. People who want more information can follow the linked source in the article's list. The map is just for a quick at-a-glance overview. But I'll add an extra note under the map. Thanks.Terrorist96 (talk) 15:04, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that Missouri signed into law the Second Amendment preservation act, https://www.kctv5.com/news/missouri-gov-parson-signs-second-amendment-preservation-act-into-law/article_0fda4bb0-cbbb-11eb-8ca2-43e0c5819915.html, that would mean now Missouri should be blue and other green counties should be purple.

2A sanctuary

[edit]

I’m an admin for Indiana 2A United, we have over 41,000 members. I can provide map updates for Indiana, since we have had 14 counties declare 2A sanctuary status. Finn1887 (talk) 01:25, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Finn1887: Hi, thanks for your note. Sure, that would be helpful. Thanks!Terrorist96 (talk) 02:30, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nebraska Long Gun Open Carry

[edit]

Hey just to let you know Omaha Nebraska prohibits the open carry of long guns and only allows the unlicensed open carry of unloaded pistols provided they're registered. Thegunkid (talk) 18:31, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Do you have a source for this? Thanks!Terrorist96 (talk) 21:08, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Omaha Ordinance Sec. 20-195 Is a near absolute prohibition on possession of all long guns and machine guns in public. The only type of firearm that can lawfully be carried without a license within the city limits of Omaha are unloaded Handguns provided that they are registered with the Omaha police department. Thegunkid (talk) 04:59, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To add, Nebraska's preemption of Omaha's ordinance is only applicable to handguns carried in conjuction with a concealed carry permit as issued or recognized by the State of Nebraska. Thegunkid (talk) 07:18, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I have updated the open carry page and long guns map.Terrorist96 (talk) 21:21, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties Map

[edit]

Good afternoon! I wanted to let you know that Oklahoma, North Dakota, and West Virginia have become sanctuary states. I was also wondering what program you used to edit that picture. Thank you, and have a blessed day! HailtoArizona (talk) 22:53, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @HailtoArizona: thanks for the message. Yes, I saw but haven't had time to update it yet. I use Notepad to edit the map. If you download the map and open it in Notepad or a similar simple text editor you can understand how the code works. I'll try to update it in the near future. Thanks. Santa Cruz, Los Angeles, Imperial counties may issue?

[edit]

Per your recent edit to the CCW Policy map changing the aforementioned counties from de-facto no issue to may issue, do you have any information about why you believe the policies in those counties have changed? would you mind sharing the source of that information if you have it? Thank you

Hi @73.252.158.66: , I use this as the source: Map, website. You can ask this person on their talk page (Wikipedia talk, Wikimedia talk) or email them at the email listed at the bottom right hand corner of the image.Terrorist96 (talk) 12:45, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, do you think you could update the sports betting legality map to reflect this source? There's a lot of slightly out-of-date info on the web regarding each state's efforts to legalize, but I figure the American Gaming Association is as authoritative a resource as any, and it says it's current as of today. Thank you for your help here and your work in general. Puhala,ny (talk) 21:50, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I'll update it in the next few days or so. Thanks.Terrorist96 (talk) 14:13, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Second Amendment Sanctuary map

[edit]

When will this map be updated with the current information as of 04/19/2022? 204.26.30.8 19:21, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, eventually. I haven't had time to update the article/map for awhile now. I'll do it eventually. But anyone can do it as well. If you save the file and open it in notepad, you can quickly understand how the coding works and what values to change to make updates. Thanks. Terrorist96 (talk) 13:40, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
