I’m such a sucker for whumpees reuniting with people who knew them from before the whump whilst in the midst of recovery. Might be one of my favourite tropes tbh.

  • Whumpees who changed their name after escaping visably recoiling when they hear someone call them that.
  • Maybe they don’t want anything to do with their old friends. They left that life behind for a reason. All they’ll do is remind Whumpee of the past, something they’ve been trying to leave behind.
  • It’s worse if Whumper was a mutual ‘friend’. Especially if these old friends didn’t even know something had happened to Whumpee. Whumper had made up some poor excuse, saying they left for a job, or had gone missing under unknown circumstances.
  • Their old friends are extremely emotional, having seen Whumpee for the first time in so long, only for the previously cheerful and expressionate Whumpee to just stare blankly in response.
  • They try to have a conversation with Whumpee but they’re horrified at how much Whumpee has changed. The old Whumpee was sweet, and always polite, yet now they cuss every other word and hardly have anything nice to say.
  • Or, maybe Whumpee used to be rebellious and freespirited. Now, they’re mild and obedient, a literal shell of their old self.
  • Whumpee’s old friends jump in to protect them from some threat, believing their usually fragile friend would still need help, only for Whumpee to jump in and defend themself, since they had to learn how to.
  • Someone who knew the old Whumpee breaking down after seeing how much their dear friend changed, asking them what happened, though Whumpee can’t bring themself to answer.
  • That person feeling like somehow, deep down, they truly failed Whumpee. If they had just been there, they could have done something. They should have done something.
  • Caretaker noticing how uncomfortable Whumpee is and trying to remove them from the situation. Their old friends are furious, they’ve been kept away from Whumpee for so long, and now they just have to leave, without any answers?
  • Bonus points if Whumpee and the old friends weren’t on good terms before they disappeared. Friends who had one final falling out, siblings with a strained relatiomship, lovers who had broken up, etc etc.

Parental whumper who has underlings. People who hold Whumpee down, tie them up, even punish them for Whumper. People who coldly help a parent torture their own child, because it's their job. Maybe at least some of them know it isn't right and feel guilty about what they're doing, but not enough to stop it.

Got institutional pet training facilities on the brain because when do I not.

Thinking about sensory deprivation. Specifically sensory deprivation for whumpees who are being... particularly difficult. Most pets only end up in the program if they have behavioral issues, but these ones have special extra behavioral issues. The "I literally cannot stop myself from trying to kill everyone around me" kind.

Bonus points if this part of the program is prompted in part by Whumpee actually TRYING to cooperate, only to find they can't. They can't stop flinching or twisting away or disobeying the orders to hold still.

Clearly their discomfort with touch is the root of their issues. That's easily fixable. All you have to do is immobilize them, put blinders over their eyes and deafening earplugs in their ears. If they have issues with biting, you add an open-mouthed gag and tube-feed them.

The program is then customizable to meet pet's needs. Pet is blinded, deafened, and unable to move. They can't hear or respond to commands. They can't watch their captors or anticipate what's coming next. Literally all they can do is experience the sensation of touch.

Pet might remain in this position for anywhere from a few days to months on end. The program typically concludes when they no longer respond to stimuli with problematic behavior.

IE: they remain limp and quiet and very Very good in situations where they would normally fight/fuss.

Some very common training regimens:

  • THOROUGHLY cleaning pet's mouth twice a day (if gagged). Good dental hygiene is important and pet can't do it themselves! Excellent for defiant pets who have a biting streak, a swearing problem, oversensitive gums, etc.
  • Touching and massaging areas that always cause pet to flinch. Obviously varies from pet to pet. It can be particularly effective to focus on just one sensitive body part per session, since this helps pet understand things like "inescapability" and "total helplessness."
  • As briefly mentioned above, tube-feeding pet. Swallowing a feeding tube is significantly less painful than having it forced down your throat. Excellent choice for defiant pets who are disobedient for the sake of disobedience. See how long it takes them to cooperate just because they're desperate to stop gagging.
  • Comforting touch as a reward when pet is docile and good. Pet can't hear praise, but you can gently stroke their hair and their throat to send a message.
  • Tickling. It's the fastest way to make the body betray itself. For pets who pride themselves on defiance, tickling is a unique form of humiliation, especially when it's intense enough to hurt and make breathing difficult.
  • Speaking of -- restricting the breathing. Again, pet can't hear or obey commands. But they can react when you place your hand over their mouth and nose. Some trainers use this just to exacerbate pet's sense of fear and helplessness, because pet never knows when they'll be allowed to breathe again. Other trainers wait for pet to exhibit a desired behavior -- typically being quiet, limp, and calm -- and then let them take a breath.
  • In the beginning, this desired behavior will almost always only occur after pet loses consciousness. Even if they're trying to remain calm, they WILL start to thrash eventually.
  • If you can rewire pet's nervous system to make them limp and obedient while they're suffocating, you can rewire pet's nervous system to do anything.

Whumpee who has been beaten beyond recognition, finally rescued.

Their rescuers burst into the cell only to be horrified.

“Jesus Christ.”

“Are they even alive?”

“Who would do this?”

Their rescuers used body cams but never intended for the footage to be show to the public—but it did. It leaked, and nobody was going to be able to undo it. Now the whole world is horrified at the conditions Whumpee and others were kept in.

Whumpee, recovering in the hospital, finds the footage.

It breaks them.

"Let them up!" Caretaker shouted as they pulled roughly on their bindings, "They can't breath- Fuck! You're going to kill them!"

Whumper looked over from where they had the Whumpee's head shoved deep into a bucket of Ice water.

Whumpee was struggling with all their might to get free but with their hands tied behind their back, and the Whumper's strong grip, nothing helped.

"What's the magic word?" Whumper chuckled darkly with a hint of playfulness in their tone.

"Please!" Caretaker begged while tears streamed down their cheeks as Whumpee's body began to go limp "Please! For the love of god, Please let them up!"

Whumper as if on que roughly pulled Whumpee's head out of the water by their hair, letting them fall to their side on the floor, gasping and choking for breath well spitting out water.

"Now Caretaker that wasn't so bad was it?" Whumper said as they laughed.

Even More Medical Whump

• A whumpee is prescribed a medication that causes severe hallucinations, that lead to violent panic attacks. But when they go to get another kind of medication, the whumpee is turned away by the doctors, and the whumpee is now left to deal with that whumpee’s side effects and symptoms.

• A peasant bot falls ill, and due to the lack of doctors, medical assistance, and knowledge on medicine, the whumpee’s condition only starts to worsen as time goes on.

• After being given a medicine to induce sleep for up to 10 hours, the whumpee remains asleep for over 15 hours and is unable to be woken up. The whumpee is admitted to the hospital after being asleep for well over 20 hours, but the doctors can’t seem to find anything that is actually wrong with the whumpee, but as time goes on they still have not woken up from their rest and the whumper is losing hope that their whumpee will ever wake up again.

Tw: noncon drugging

Living weapon A meeting living weapon B.

In A's eyes are a bone-deep tiredness that can only been noticed by another weapon.

A and B waiting for medical attention after an intense mission. Them lying against each other, one trying not to fall asleep, the other trying not to cry.

A and B forming a silent bond after their handlers working together for a long time. And A finds out that B and their handler had left. Trying to control their emotions when they realize they never got to say goodbye.

A waking to B's screams every night, knowing that they're not allowed to help B. Some nights it's worth the resulting punishments.

A having to watch B being drugged and delirious from a punishment. Watching B's cries while knowing that their handlers are watching them. A getting beaten for sobbing when B cries out for them.

A and B constantly having to preform emergency medical treatments on each other. Not having the proper tools and their only experience with it was when a doctor did it to them.

A and B sharing a room and staying up late together while trying to deal with their trauma.

Handler swap!? It's just a chill training day and the handlers decide to swap weapons for a day, see how it goes! They definitely wont come crawling back to their old handler begging them not to give them to the other handler. And both weapons apologizing for how awful their handlers are.

A and B are always given their meals together. A is always still hungry and B always gets full quickly. Sharing is caring after all!

A being extremely broken and B still being a defiant asshole. A watching B get slapped around for their sarcasm and begging for B to stop. A trying to teach B what to do and what not to do and helplessly watching as B breaks all the rules. A fearing that they might get punished for to being able to keep B in check. Eventually, A planning an escape attempt and inviting B with them. Their heart breaks as head B's refusal. "No, there's no point, we're just weapons,"

B preventing A from picking at their healing wounds.

A and B are together 24/7, they don't have anything else to talk about, they just enjoy the other's silent presence.

The pair planning an escape attempt.

The pair being separated when their handlers catch them.

"My weapon has never acted like this! Yours is a bad influence!" "No! Mines never had any feelings or wants till yours came around and ruined them!"

Because A and B are always together, they catch the same illness and are useless until they recover.

A and B curling up in the same bed "for warmth." That's what they'll tell their handlers at least...

Thinking about forced surgeries rn...

Whumpee strapped down on an operating table, dry heaving from the sheer terror, eyes wide open. No anaesthesia whatsoever, the feeling of cold metal against flesh. Screams, thrashing, loud gasps with each incision made.

Or the horror of being put under by complete strangers, in an unfamiliar place. He knows it's useless to fight it. Labored breaths before eventually surrendering to the drugs, despite his brain screaming at him not to.

Or waking up in an ice bath with stitches on his abdomen. Confused and hazy, feeling nothing but a horrible emptiness. The throbbing pain and the horrible realisation setting in as he slowly comes to.

So so so many options.... Very bad things ..

More oddly specific whump tropes I cannot get over

A boot on Whumpee’s back, or chest, pinning them down.

Kneeling or sitting on whumpee as they are sprawled on the ground. Bonus if you yank their arm back painfully, slowly bending it more and more until Whumpee can’t take it

Whumper(s) holding whumpee’s mouth open as they fight not to have a cloth gag shoved into their mouth.

Whumpee tied to a chair, unable to stop Whumper from grabbing their chin and forcing them to watch something awful

Whumpee having to be held down by several large guards/soldiers as something is done to them

Injured and scared whumpee who has to be held down and blindfolded while receiving medical treatment, and after a while they stop thrashing around, quietly shivering instead..

When caretaker gently takes off their blindfold, the whumpee's eyes are still locked shut.

They try to comfort them, but whumpee just flinches at the touch.

Military whump prompts

(because Reddit is down and I’m chronically online)

  • Hearing the whumpee’s screams over the radio as they’re captured, the rest of the team frozen in horror.

• Patch job in the middle of the battlefield, someone pressing down on a wound with their bare hands, whispering, “Stay with me, okay? Just stay.”

• Post-mission debrief, but the whumpee is barely holding it together, swaying on their feet as the adrenaline wears off.

• The whumpee refusing pain meds because they need to “stay sharp,” only to pass out mid-conversation.

• “I don’t leave people behind,” they growl, limping and bleeding but refusing to abandon the unconscious teammate over their shoulder.

• Waking up in a field hospital, disoriented and panicked, pulling out the IV before being restrained by a firm but gentle voice.

• “We’re not going to make it.” “Yes, we are.” Cue one of them doing something reckless to ensure the other gets out alive.

• Cold, soaked to the bone, huddled in a ruined building during a downpour, one of them feverish while the other desperately tries to keep them awake.

• Hiding an injury to avoid being benched, only for it to get worse at the worst possible moment.

• “You don’t understand—I can’t go back. I can’t be discharged.”

• A high-ranking officer demanding a mission debrief while the whumpee is barely conscious, words slurring, bleeding through their uniform.

• A medic struggling to save the whumpee in the back of a jolting vehicle, yelling for the driver to go faster.

• Post-rescue, sitting by the whumpee’s bedside, counting every beep of the heart monitor like a prayer.

Whumpee stirring from a deep, medical-induced sleep to the sound of muffled voices, fighting to pry their eyes open to see who it is but their resolve is too weak, their eyelids too heavy.

Their head lolls sideways on the pillow as they draw a slow, sluggish breath, mumbling unintelligibly'Where am I? What's happening?' But their mouth is unable to properly form the words.

The voices pause suddenly, and hesitate, before Whumpee feels a warm gentle hand is stroking their face and hair.

"No, No...shhhh. Shh, It's alright, Whumpee. It's nothing," A soothing voice whispers, lulling them back down. "Just go back to sleep."

"It'll all be over soon..." Is the last words Whumpee hears before the medicine takes over again, causing them to fall back into their slumber.

Whumpee getting pinned against something

Being grabbed by the throat and shoved against the wall, held high enough that their toes only just scrape the ground.

Being boxed in by multiple whumpers who all want a go at Whumpee

Whumpees who are strapped into the same device they have been everyday being held up like a peice of meat

Whumpee's strung up, crucified, for the enjoyment of the whumper who just wants to see them suffer

Being held up against the wall whilst Whumper touches them all over, inspecting them with morbid, animalistic curiosity.

Rain Check III

Warnings: captivity, torture, restraints, cruel whumper

Team Leader had to find a way to break out. They had to slip these cuffs and get to Teammate One. They could fight Whumper off and rescue Teammate One. No matter what shape Teammate One was in, Team Leader was going to get them out.

No matter how hard they strained, they couldn't break their restraints. Couldn't slip free. "COME ON!" They shouted their frustration.

They didn't care that their wrists were raw. Didn't care that their throat was raw from yelling. It didn't compare to what Whumper was likely doing to Teammate One. Had continued to do to Teammate One even though Teammate One was still silent.

"Probably gagged. That's why I can't hear them," Team Leader muttered as they prepared to try to break the restraints again.

The door banged open again and Team Leader froze. Whumper stood in the door way, sinister smile on their face. "I may have overestimated that toy," they said as they walked in. Team Leader's stomach dropped. Overestimated? What did that mean. "But I won't do that with you," Whumper said as they continued forward. "We are going to have such fun, you and I."

just a whump thing i rly love

ok when whumpee is unconscious and being bridal carried…

but then the way they lie when caretaker/whumper puts them down…like that awkward position that u can tell they would never lie in by themselves

like the way the head falls backwards, or the arms just kind of spread at their sides

Thoughts on noncon kissing

-jaw grabbing

-alternatively, throat grabbing

-making whumpee initiate it

-switching between two whumpers, giving whumpee no break

-whumper tastes like cigarettes/alcohol/etc

-shotgunning

-hurting whumpee until they open their mouth in pain to kiss them

More thoughts on noncon kissing

-forcing 2 whumpees to kiss

-noncon kissing + forced intoxication

-delusional whumper getting mad at whumpee for not kissing them willingly

-whumpee faking passion in a kiss to get out of worse punishment

-whumper kissing whumpee in front of caretaker/significant other

-kissing purely as a show of power or dominance instead of lust or attraction

-soft, “comforting” kisses in between torture

-kissing to muffle a scream

-kissing to muffle a scream (I really like this one)

-kissing as a means of suffocation

Can't stop thinking about unconscious whumpee waking up in the middle of being cared for.

The initial realization from carer (or carers) that whumpee is gaining consciousness. "They're coming around" (maybe said with relief, or with quietly uttered curses because whumpee being awake will only make things more complicated at this moment) and "Hey, Whumpee, you with me?" and "You're safe, I've got you."

Whumpee coming to, confused and hurting, while carer struggles to keep them calm so they don't injure themself further. Maybe whumpee is too out of it to remember anything after the fact, but their screams, the pleas and begging, are something carer won't soon forget. Or maybe whumpee remembers every second of it, and afterwards has to face carer knowing that carer has seen them at their most vulnerable.
