The University of Maryland Global Campus, or UMGC (Formerly UMUC), is part of the University of Maryland system. Originally, the target audience of the University was the education of military personnel overseas. The University still maintains campuses in Europe and Asia and teaches classes on military bases in several countries overseas and throughout the United States. Most UMGC students are not traditional students but rather individuals who work may be married with children, work full time or part time, are active duty or have prior military service. Working adults compromise a large majority of the students. From a Cyber Perspective, because many UMGC students work in the field as IT professionals which has served well for them when their Cyber Team competes in competitions.
