Rare Find Vintage Sewing and writing case
This lovely antique leather covered sewing and writing box is a rare find, from Sheffield England. It measures 30 x 20 x 9cm It has a working lock with key. The case contains a selection of sewing tools with a number of wooden reels and wool in their original packets. The writing component is secured with a clip and opens up to original writing blotting paper, date pad and stamps. There is some slight wear damage to the leather covering as shown. 1960s Midcentury Small Sewing Basket. Red And White Plastic & Sea grass Weave. Refurbished.
This is a cute small sewing box from around the 1960s. When people used to stay in and plan an evening for all their sewing tasks !! In this throw away society it is so nice to find one of these little treasures. It was in a bit of a sorry state when I found it so with a little bit of love and attention, I have thoroughly cleaned it all over, replaced some of the ribbon inside and added a felt inside base to it. Now perfectly useable and ready to be loved and used all over again ❣️ (The contents of the basket are for show only.
