I used a 2 inch block to create a space between the existing base and the new molding. I found the detail molding at Lowe’s. There are lots of moldings to choose from. I chose a 2” primed cove molding. This little diy hack took the existing 2 1/2” boring baseboards and turned them into a more ornate 6 1/2” baseboard.
