9K views · 363 reactions | Much requested how-to of our powder room refresh! The size of our bathroom is 5’2” x 5’ our ceilings are 9’ for reference I ordered wallpaper 6’x6’ to have a little extra to have room for mistakes since it was my first time installing wallpaper. If you’re interested in the exact measurements of my boxes scroll my feed I have a reel posted I used 4” spacers all around the boxes & determined the height of my chair rail pole wrap before putting the top trim on- which is actually a door casing) The lower decorative trim of the chair rail is the same trim as the picture frame boxes. Once I had my boxes put together & nailed in, I measured & cut the pole wrap to size. The pole wrap I grabbed @homedepot wasn’t wide enough so I had to measure again to cut the remaining space to size. I used a 10” miter saw & flipped the pole wrap panel upside down to finish the remainder of the cut. But you can use a utility knife as well I did have the paint custom matched to the wallpaper but it took many samples, as lighting definitely makes a big difference. I have my paint sample linked. It’s a good place to start though you might have to tweak it depending on your lighting. If you plan to paint your pole wrap I recommend painting before installing because it was very tedious trying to paint in all the small spaces lol I ended up using my kids smallest paint brush for it! 😅 Over all I’d say this project is very beginner friendly(it was my first project in our home) I choose our powder room as my first project because if it turned out horrible I could just close the door 😂 but to my surprise it turned out better than expected! if you recreate this, tag me I’d love to see it! Let me know if you have any other questions. Feel free to DM too I’m happy to help 😊 🤎FOLLOW @neutralcatt for more home inspo 🤎Comment shop & I’ll send you a link to materials & wallpaper I used. https://liketk.it/51Ee8 #bathroomtransformation #bathroomdesign #diyhome #housetohome #buildergradeupgrade #smallbathroom #paint #wallpaper #polewrap #modernorganic #neutralstyle | NeutralCatt

4.4K views · 6.8K reactions | • Panelling Guide • After I shared on stories us panelling the hallway I got quite a few questions about measurements & what we used so below are the details. - First we added a dado rail 85cm above the skirting board. The reason we did it 85cm was because we have a shelf on one wall & wanted it to be the same height. We used @wickes pine decorative moulding 12 x 32 x 2400 mm. - For the corners we cut the dado rail at a 45 degree angle using a mitre block - For the moulding we decided on a 10cm spacer. The moulding rectangle was 10cm above the skirting board, 10cm below the dado rail and a 10cm gap between. We tried to do a 10cm gap from the start of the wall too but on some walls it needed to be bigger or smaller depending on how it looked. I used a 10cm coaster as a spacer which made it easy for me to check that the moulding was in the right place when I stuck it on. - we cut the mouldings with miter cutters from Amazon. They were great to use & made cutting the moulding quick with clean cuts. We cut 45 degree angles for each corner piece. - We used @bandq_uk pine astragal moulding 22 x 8.5 x 2400mm and stuck it on with no more nails. - For the wall going up the stairs we drew where the moulding would go on the wall. We used the 10cm rule to know where the mouldings should go & made sure the lines were straight on the sides of the rectangle. Then once we had drawn the lines we used this as a guide to cut the wood at the angles required by hand. These weren’t angles that were on the mitre cutters or block so had to be cut by hand as each angle was slightly different. - After it was all stuck on I caulked any gaps & sanded before painting. I still have lots of woodwork to paint so the final reveal won’t be for a while but here’s a sneak peek! What do you think? #panelling #panelledwalls #panellingguide #panellingtutorial #diytutorial #hallwaypanelling #hallwaydecor #hallwayinspo #hallway #diyhomedecor #diyprojects #diyhacks #hacks | Sera

146K views · 1.1K reactions | Happy New Year ✨Rating my 2024 projects ✨ There’s one thing that really stood out to me along my DIY journey in 2024. It’s that mistakes will only make you BETTER! I have learned SO MUCH with each and every project that I do and it only makes the next project better. If I could give you one piece of advice for 2025, it’s to go for it! I think you will really surprise yourself with what you are capable of 💫 Here’s some mistakes I made and that I now know better for the next time: 1. Buy the large sheets of beadboard and if you cannot transport them, have the store cut them down to size for you. I used the smaller sheets of beadboard in my breakfast nook and when you stack them it’s almost impossible to hide the horizontal lines. 2. If you’re doing a DIY TV Frame, make sure to cut a notch for the sensor. I need to go back and do this. I bought one of those sensor adapters but it doesn’t work. 3. When repairing a wall, take the time to fully repair the drywall. This may take many many layers of spackle. If you’re like me, you will see every imperfection if you don’t. 4. When purchasing trim pieces, don’t cut them down for easier transport. These are also very hard to hide the lines where they are connected. ….oh and make sure to cut the power off before doing anything electrical 😬 Here’s to more knowledge going into 2025! ✨ | megankhome

24K views · 962 reactions | When I first started my DIY journey… wow, I was so naive. 😂 I thought the hardest part would be learning how to use power tools or measuring everything correctly. 🪚
Spoiler: that was not the hardest part. The hardest part was ➡️DESIGNING the project👀 I’d find a project I loved online and think, “Oh, I’ll just copy/paste that.”
Yeah… that’s not how it worked out. 😂 Because once I got into it, I’d spiral with questions like:
❓What color should it be?
❓How far up the wall should it go?
❓Does this even match the rest of my house?? ❌And after all that work, I’d end up feeling disappointed. My projects never felt complete. And they never felt like ME. Then, as I was working on my third accent wall… something clicked. I realized that making confident design choices isn’t about copying what you see online…
➡️It’s about having a system- a way to take your ideas and make them feel intentional, polished, and personal. That system has completely changed how I approach projects. And it’s why my accent walls look next level like this one. So if you’re feeling overwhelming with the design of your projects.. You’re not alone. I got you! I packed everything I’ve learned into a FREE masterclass to help you design stunning accent walls that feel cohesive, beautiful, and something you’re PROUD of. ✨Here’s how to get your hands on it👇 ➡️First FOLLOW if you like this content (and to make sure you get the message- IG has tight messaging policies) ✅Then COMMENT: CLASS and I’ll DM you instant access ✨You can also find it at the top of my profile✨ XO Jeannie | Jeannie | DIY Home Projects and Design

The runner was custom made by @floor.street if you have straight stairs you can buy directly from their website and fit yourself. If you have a stair turn then will need to contact them for further advice… ❔ What’s the paint colour? The top half is @lick Beige 04 and the bottom white 01 in eggshell- including the steps. I did prime with @bandq_uk own brand primer first. ❔ What did you wrap around the bottom step? The bottom step was uneven and couldn’t be saved with filler, there was also a gap between the floor and bottom step- common problem if you have stair carpet and flooring laid! So I used flexible MDF from @bandq_uk to wrap and glue around the base to fix the uneven step and give the illusion that the step is sitting above the floor… ❔Where’s your hand rail? We have never had one since we have lived here 🙃 we will eventually get round to adding something, maybe glass or a hand rail…?! ❔ What’s at the top of the stairs? It’s the same carpet across the landing without the black boarder. ❔ What’s your flooring? It’s Desert Oak Herringbone Laminate also from @floor.street my discount code also works on all flooring! I have a few reels on the breakdown of each stage including how we did the panelling, anything else just let me know! 43K views · 423 reactions | Honesty the hardest part is getting started! You just have to START!!! and the momentum will take you from there. Here are the basic steps for this picture frame moulding and trim. Step 1. Tape off your space. I like to use painters tape to get a pretty good feel for how it will look and find my spacing. Step 2: Measure and mark where the trim will be placed. Step 3: Cut the trim to size. I used a miter saw to cut everything here. Step 4: Assemble & attach the trim to the wall. I used my brad nailer for the picture frame moulding, pin nailer and wood glue & construction glue for the pole wrap (brown looking trim). Step 5: Caulk the trim, fill any nail holes, prime and then paint 😃! #diyprojects #homeimprovement #homerenovations #diyinspiration | Juliecarmonahome
