In order to get better at it you have to prepare yourself with the right exercises.   Instead of just diving head in forcing your body into the bridge position you have to work up to it slowly building a strong foundation.   If instead of actually training for the bridge you only work on it by doing attempts you will just repeatedly overuse the part of your back chain that is already flexible. This will lead to bad alignment, improper form and acute overload of that one part of your body.
