UN declares ocean emergency About 8 million tons of plastic enters the ocean every year. This amount is enough to kill over a million seabirds and at least 100,000 marine mammals. If drastic measures are not taken, within 30 years the volume of microplastics in the ocean will reach a billion tons, which will exceed the total weight of the fish living in the ocean.

In this post I go through the various ways that plastic waste gets into our oceans. There is so much plastic in the sea causing issues for marine life, however there are things that we can do to save our oceans. These tips will help stop the plastic pollution from getting any worse.
