Waking up aesthetic

safety was never an idea at the top of my mind but i spent a month waking to darkness i spent four months lacking enough air to breathe i spent three winters aching for warmth in his voice i spent seven years believing i deserved how i was treated. now i wake to sunlight. now i wake to slowness. now i wake to kind words. now i wake to four wagging tails. now i wake grateful for safety and i will do anything to hold on to it. #morning #light #goldenhour #aesthetic #poetry #breakup #healing
