The front showcases a skull within a decorative niche, and is strung on antique gold and jet glass rosary chain. The Ex Voto Sacred Heart was cast from an antique piece and recreated in plaster resin, then hand finished with acrylic paints, antiquing medium, and gilding paste to create a weathered black and tarnished gold finish. The back has an image of Queen Catherine de Medici salvaged from a vintage art book, then decoupaged with gold leaf, then varnished with antiquing medium to create a bit of tarnished appearance.
