Save these “how to” instructions!😊 Here are the steps we took to create this look that you’ll want to save: •Clean piece well •Repair any damage and give it a good scuff sand •Paint legs and skirt black. We used @fusionmineralpaint •Paint table top creamy white •Brush on glaze with a chip brush then go over the wet glaze with a broom to create the faux wood texture. Keep brush strokes straight and going in the direction of the natural wood grain. We alternated between the broom and chip brush to create the right look. The glaze takes a bit to dry so you have time to work it and get it right. •Let dry and add polyurethane to entire piece for protection Comment “stuff” for a list of all the products we used for this table. | Sheila & Janelle (DIY Furniture Refinishing•Teaching•Home Decor) | Giulio Cercato · Be Creative

121K views · 1.7K reactions | Follow along with me for more budget friendly DIY! Can you even believe this is the same door??? 😭 Incase you missed it… last week the new door I ordered finally came in after 8 weeks of waiting and it was the wrong color 😒 Impatient me didn’t wanna wait for a new one so I decided to try and makeover the one I had on a budget! HELLOOO BEAUTIFUL 😍 How to paint faux wood: 1. Clean + prep the door 2. Use an exterior paint to paint 2 coats of your base color. (I used Rookwood Brown by SW) 3. Lightly apply a gel stain with a brush (I used the color Coffee) and wipe with a staining pad to blend 4. Viola! A brand new door! To really make your transformation complete, paint the frame to match + remove the storm door if you have one. Our door is fiberglass but you could use this technique on all materials. The stain brush helps you get the wood grain texture. I AM OBSESSED 👏🏼 Are you ready to tackle yours now!? Inspo: garage doors 😍😍😍 #entryway #frontdoor #frontdoordecor #frontdoorgoals #homeimprovements #homehacks #fauxwood | Come Stay Awhile

8.7K views · 3.8K reactions | Here are my 3 BEST TIPS for working with liquid wood!! Comment LINK for tips & FOLLOW along for more budget friendly DIYs! details below ⬇️ 1. CLEAN VERY WELL. Use Krud Kutter if the cabinets are very greasy. If it’s just dust, you can use a wet paper towel. 2. Apply the liquid wood in long even strokes. This is ESSENTIAL. It creates a wood grain pattern. Make sure the surface is fully covered. What isn’t covered will show through. You will need at least two coats of liquid wood. Some areas I used three. 3. Wait 48 hours for everything to dry and apply one to three coats of polyurethane depending on the surface you’re working with. The heavier use items go for three coats!! #liquidwood #budgetfriendly #beforeandafter #diy #diyproject #diyhome #myhome #neutralhome #modernhome #tipsandtricks #neutralhome #modernhome #stain #howto #stepbystep #tutorial #neutral #modern #tipsandtricks #steps #transformation #easydiy #hack #hacks #cabinetideas #cabinethacks | MICHELLE | Neutral Modern Home

154K views · 4.9K reactions | Creating a coastal faux wood grain with paint | Creating a coastal faux wood grain with paint | By Simply Made Unique by Jill | Do you know what you get when you take six colors, a brush for each color? Two flat brushes and a mister bottle. You create a really nice coastal faux wood look out of paint. The first thing I'm going to do is just put each one of those colors on with some water that I sprayed on with my mister bottle. I'm just layering each color going in between each one. It's going to look kind of messy and chaotic but don't worry, it comes out beautiful in the end. I chose a couple blues, a couple grays, and white to go on this gray background for my table to create this faux wood look. Then I mist it down with my water not so it's soaking wet but I take my flat natural bristle brush and just blend those colors together gently. You can leave the table just like this. People love this look. It's absolutely beautiful but we're going to take it a step further. Here you can see I'm mixing up a little bit of clear glaze with white paint. You can also use just a white glaze or a little bit of clear coat with some paint in it. You want it to be a more fluid than regular paint with water so you have a longer activation time. Then after we paint that thin coat on, I'm going to take a wood graining tool and we just rock this back and forth as we drag it. I used a couple different sizes to get this look varying which way I'm going on the board and adding little pieces in between. It's the perfect coastal look with those blues and grays in it and I hope you guys follow me for more furniture painting tips.

238K views · 7.4K reactions | ⬇️ Comment ‘WASH’ for the VIDEO & PDF guide to achieve this natural raw finish! ⚡️After many requests, i have recorded an extended YouTube VIDEO for you! 🎉 Our clients vintage Maple sideboard was completely sanded down to raw then given a paint wash to act as a barrier between the natural golden orange tones of the maple wood and the top coat. The ratio of 1 parts paint to 10 parts water is the lightest paint wash we have found possible with most pieces where visible paint isn’t left on the timbers surface. It soaks right in. However you can do the ratio of your choosing for the look you want! This technique is possible over naturally light timbers, red timbers will bleed red tannins. I’ve seen some success with green paint washes over red timbers but unfortunately it’s not guaranteed. Wood bleaching red timbers is an option however, see our other reels on this. You can use ANY waterbased paint for this including left over wall paint. Choose a white/tan/beige. I like to mix something similar to the wood I’m applying it too. Don’t be limited to light paint washes! Essentially you’re creating a waterbased stain, try out tans, browns, blues, greys and black! Colour correcting with paint washes is also another great tip! ⚡️Products I used on our clients piece: ⬇️ -Top Coat: @monocel.timbercare waterbased satin varnish -The paint wash we used was a mix of left over whites but a suggested mix to try is @purecopaint in the colour Calico. Mixed 1 parts paint to 10 parts water. | Ashley Krug | mgk · Lonely Road
