Jessica Grant on Instagram: "The easiest “gingerbread” houses- make these and then decorate with candy! This is one of my favorite holiday traditions that we’ve been doing since my kids were super little and building an entire gingerbread house with them was near impossible (and inevitably, after all that they thought real gingerbread was gross anyways 😝). It become a fun family tradition to decorate (and eat) these every year instead! I cut apart Pop-tarts and use a tube of frosting to assemble a simple house front for my kids to decorate with candy and snacks 🏠! They’re a perfect activity for a kids’ Christmas party or after-school treat! #christmasiscoming #magicalchildhood #craftymom #tistheseason #christmasinspo #christmastreats #christmasdiy #gingerbreadhouse #christmassnack
Diane Morrisey on Instagram: "Growing up, all Holidays meant trays and trays of Italian cookies, Struffoli and Christmas breads. My Grandmother would begin baking a week before Christmas and not stop until Christmas Eve. And always there were her Anginettis. Soft as a cloud with a slight citrus flavor, these were always my favorite cookies of hers. I love them now just as much as I did when she was making them for me and it would not be an Christmas without them 💗 . . Grandmas Anginettis . . They make for a great homemade gift, too! You’ll need: - 1 stick (113g) unsalted American-style butter* - 1 cup (200g) light brown sugar - 1 teaspoon fine salt Begin melting the butter in a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Add the sugar and salt and whisk vigorously for one minute. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 295-300F and looks like melted peanut butter, about 10 min. Carefully pour onto a rimmed parchment or silicone lined pan and quickly spread into a thin even layer. It hardens quickly, so have everything ready to go. Let harden and cool for about 20 min before breaking into small pieces usin
Hillary \\ Tello and Rose on Instagram: "Gingerbread Cookies. I happened to be on a George Washington rabbit hole (🤓) after visiting DC and was able to get in contact with @mount_vernon. They were kind enough to send me the original gingerbread recipe written by the Superintendent of Bakers for the Continental Army, Christopher Ludwick. I made two changes as our taste buds are a little more sensitive than the Continental soldiers. 😅 They are delicious and taste like the cinnamon cookies from Trader Joe’s. Random thoughts below the recipe… 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup butter ½ cup cream 1 tbsp ground allspice (I did 1/2 TSP) 1 tbsp ground ginger 1 tbsp ground caraway seed (I substituted equal parts cinnamon) 1 tsp baking powder . Glaze ( I added icing, the soldiers we
