Maria Ximena on Instagram: "Make your own tortillas de harina: simple and delicious! 370g (About 2 1/2 cups) of Flour 1 1/4 tsp of Salt 1 tsp of Baking Powder 80g of Lard or Vegetable shortening (1/3 cup) 1 cup of hot Water 1.Mix all dry ingredients (flour, salt and baking powder. 2.Mix in the lard 3.Add and mix in the hot water. (Please be careful, use mixing spatula if too hot). 4.Cut dough into desired tortilla size. Cover with damp towel or shrink wrap so the dough doesn’t dry out. 5.Flatten the dough with your hands, sprinkle flour on table and then roll out the dough. (Note: try to use as little flour possible to not dry out the dough) 6.Place tortilla on a hot griddle, bubbles should form on the tortillas. Once the air pockets start to brown, flip to the other side. 7.Enjoy!
