MATERIALS: You will need an iron, a wet towel (preferably an old one), a putty knife or scraper, and a pair of gloves to protect your hands. 2. APPLY MOISTURE: Soak the towel in water and wring it out so it is damp but not dripping. Lay the wet towel over the veneer you wish to remove and let it sit for about an hour. 3. APPLY HEAT: Set your iron to the highest heat setting (this is Linen on my iron). Once the iron is hot, place it on top of the towel and let it sit for a minute or two. The combination of heat and moisture will seep through the veneer, softening the glue beneath it. 4. REMOVING THE VENEER: After heating the area, carefully lift the iron and towel.
