♔ Sergei Smirnov is a Russian Contemporary Artist. Born on April 12, 1953 in Russia and died on November 8, 2006 in Sausalito, California. Sergey Smirnov's art captures the depth and beauty of the human soul, reminiscent of old Russian church iconography. Smirnov’s style has echoes of his favorite period of Russian art, known as “Parsuna”, which bridged the worlds of religious and personal portraiture, as Russian painters began adopting the portrait painting styles of Western European salons.
