Frederick Davis (1880 - 1961), while not the household name of William Spratling, actually preceded him in terms of bringing Mexican design to the fore. Davis worked in Mexico City designing for more than 20 years for Sanborn's, the department store where tourists, among other things, could purchase jewelry and antiques.
