The 34th annual Gotham Awards will take place December 2 and the second Gotham TV Awards will be held June 2, 2025, organizer the Gotham Film & Media Institute said Thursday.
The news comes after the inaugural Gotham TV Awards were held earlier this month; the small-screen categories originally were part of the wintertime, movie-focused Gotham Awards before then.
The 2023 Gotham Awards bestowed its Best Feature prize on Celine Song’s Past Lives, which went on to land a pair of Oscar nominations including for Best Picture. The 2024 ceremony will include two additional competitive categories: the newly created Best Director as well as Breakthrough Performer (returning after a hiatus).
Other winners last year in the gender-neutral acting categories including Lily Gladstone, who took Outstanding Lead Performance for her work in The Unknown Country; and Charles Melton taking Supporting Performance for May December. Eventual five-time Oscar nominee Anatomy of a Fall won for International Feature and Screenplay.

The film awards, which focus on more indie fare, traditionally mark unofficial start to the movie awards season with its early December date.
At the June 4 Gotham TV Awards, Baby Reindeer, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Colin From Accounts won the top series honors; Colin From Accounts was the night’s only double winner as its co-star Harriet Dyer won for in the gender-neutral Outstanding Performance in a Comedy Series category.
