noncon Uber Pool idea.....

Soap picking you up first so that you can't get out of the car when he stops to pick up Ghost (even though you could've sworn you picked the regular Uber option). has the doors rigged so you can't open them from the inside and immediately cancels the ride after Ghost gets in and says it was an accident but "it's okay, hen, ah know this city like the back of my hand." all while Ghost is just silently manspreading beside you in the backseat and taking up way too much room.

you only realize how fucked you are when you start seeing more trees than buildings.

Anonymous asked:

Have you thought about the older man/younger woman trope with ghost?

a million billion times since I’m younger than Ghost (or at least how I headcanon him - around 35-37). I don’t like him in roles like “dad’s best friend” or whatever because he’s not old enough for that in my opinion, but I like him as like…..an older, mature student at your school that enrolled after an injury took him out of the military and now he just glowers at you when you’re forced to work with him on a project for class. You ask him to meet you in the library to finish your assignment and he says he’d rather you come back to his place instead.

Not old enough to be your dads best friend, but still old enough to say “y’never have a real man eat this cunt proper, birdie? Jus’ boys? Damned shame.” When you were supposed to be researching the ecological impact of changes in solifugae population numbers

I don’t have telepathy skills, can I learn it?

Like when I’m working with my deity I just in my mind get random words but still in my voice like I’m saying it in my mind, could it be deity? Or I’m delulu?

I see sometimes that ppl create spells with the help of deity but idk how can I do so if I can’t hear mine or see 🥲

What is your witchy hot take?

Rules for this post:

Give the benefit of the doubt. If it seems like a blanket statement, it probably isn't, it's probably just based on that person's experience or belief system. Also don't turn it into some weird bigoted stuff or you get blocked.

MY witchy hot take is that I think tarot decks you choose personally match your energy better than those gifted to you.

How are you gunna know if you vibe with it if you've never messed with it before? I vibe with the one's I've been gifted, of course, but not as much as those that I choose myself.

Another one: While aesthetic isn't necessary, I think enjoying the aesthetic of your craft/work is important. You like the look of your space and tools? Great, I think it gets you in a better headspace and you'll likely be able to focus better because of it.

Same goes for cleanliness. Your space doesn't need to be spotless and dust-free but having a clean space will likely help things along.

ITS TIME TO TALK ABOUT WARDS!

Im doing some summer warding and wanted to share some tips on how, when, and why to ward as a witch whos practiced for 7 years. (7 years now? damn.)

first:

What is a ward?

a ward is a magical barrier between yourself and any unknown entity. think of in the spiderwick chronicles when the old dude had his bed surrounded by a ring of salt- that's a ward, a common troupe for one too!

Wards come in different varieties, shapes and sizes. I wanted to highlight a couple of mine (which are admittedly a lil overkill) here today.

When should I use wards?

wards are a passive magic meant to be running constantly so things you do not want in your space dont find there way in. so basically: if you dont have any, you should proooooobably put some up after reading this.

Why should I ward?

so you can sleep safley at night? lol. in all seriousness, its like a magical moat for your space- nothing can come in unless you specifically let it. it's very helpful.

DIFFERENT WARD TYPES!

oh boy here we go let's talk about what kinds of wards there are!

1. PLANTS

Plants serve as a living, breathing barrier between you and the unknown. They are a very powerful ward when done properly. They can absorb negative energy for you! Be careful with this though- if someone hexes you, it might try to pass through your wards and hurt your plants :(

2. BELLS

In medieval times, bells and windchimes were used to deter evil spirits from entering homes. Sound familiar? Anyways, this principle can still be harnessed and used to this day. Along with the bell, I got copper wire, which is a self cleansing protective metal, a hunk of labradorite to invoke psychic tendencies, and an acorn for luck :)

3. ROCKS

a very common ward includes protective stones! Heres a hunk of obsidian to illustrate! it makes it harder for spirits to pass through generally.

4. BANNERS WITH SYMBOLS

Idk if i can refer to these as prayer flags sincr they dont actually have prayers attached to them, but similar concept! This set of banners has protective symbols to keep my space safe and sound :)

Well that about summarizes my wards! Wards can be made from just about anything that aligns with your craft, I hope this gave you some ideas! blessed be, have a good day!

How to cleanse your house for manifestation, and "clear your door ways" of negative shit

Clean your front door. I am not joking, clean the fucking door. Especially if you have VISIBLE grime on it, clean it physically. Take your multi-surface cleaner, spray it to fuck, then wipe it down with paper towels until everything is gone. And then, take a prepared wash (spiritual wash of whatever sort you feel necessary, could even be a multi-action bath for cleansing and protection as well as prosperity if you do it right) and re-wash the door with this mix. If you don't have visible grime on your door, you can skip the multi-surface cleaner and go straight to the spiritual wash

Once a month at least, especially for warding work or for road opening work (would not try to make it for both, if you do road opening have a separate ward set up at the door)

Easy Warding recipe

-baking soda

-bay leaves

-peppermint

-basil

-ashes of psalm 23 (or another if you have a preference, or a petition written for the protection of the home)

Wash the door, then throw the remaining liquid at the door and let it air dry

Easy Prosperity recipe

-cinnamon

-clove

-nutmeg

-ginger

-bay leaf

-holy water (optional, but adds an extra kick)

-coins (will be strained out and given as offerings at a crossroads after the wash is made)

-petition for prosperity and abundance burned (also psalm 23, and Mathew: 7:7-8)

Wash the door while petitioning for prosperity, for money to always be flowing in, and for blessings in general to always be flowing in. After entire door is washed, throw remaining liquid on door and allow to air dry. Take the coins and go to the nearest crossroads and drop them on the corner (if you live in an apartment complex, the entrance to the complex is the best place. Not the nearest gate, the ENTRANCE. My nearest gate is exit only, and you want abundance flowing IN)

Anyway, hmu if you want a reading, or if you'd like a specific work done! Info is in the pinned post on my page, lmk if you're interested!

City Magic: Painted Rock Wards

This post was released a week early over on my Patreon! You can subscribe for free to be notified of important projects announcements, or subscribe for as little as $2 a month to gain early access to my content, exclusive access to research/reading notes, and free digital goodies! Your support means the world to me and helps me to continue doing what I love.

We’ve all seen those pretty painted rocks over on Pinterest, right? These bad boys? Or perhaps you’ve even seen them around your neighborhood/public parks.

Traditionally, these are meant to be painted (sometimes with words of encouragement) and left in public spaces for people to take home, as an act of kindness. Some others paint them for their garden, either to deter pests with vibrant colors, or they’re used to label whatever’s in their garden.

Now, if you live in a big city, you probably have felt a disconnect from your craft or your practice. It’s difficult to connect with a nature-oriented spirituality, such as witchcraft, when you live in a concrete jungle! But there are many, many ways to feel connected to your craft, even if you don’t live in the middle of the woods or have a lot of nature around you. One of these ways is to connect with your neighborhood.

Your neighborhood has mass significance to your life, whether you realize it or not: this is where you live, where you work, where you breathe, where you practice your craft – you must make yourself known, and make the neighborhood known to yourself as well. One of the best ways to do this is to take walks!

Whenever you’re ready, take a walk through your neighborhood and bring a map, notebook, and a pen. As you walk, observe the behaviors of the residents around you. Do they seem to be struggling with anything? What kind of people are they like? Write these characteristics down. If you notice any parts of your neighborhood that evoke any specific emotions (such as unease, happiness, peace, or anxiety), mark them on your map. You might also notice some “problem areas” – perhaps some patches of the road or sidewalk are horribly paved and need to be repaired, or there’s a lot of loud dogs constantly barking at the end of your block. Mark these areas on your map as well, and report back to your home when you are ready.

Picking Your Purpose

Now that we’ve identified a few “problems” and made observations within your neighborhood, we can decide what we want to do. Do you want to protect against thieves? Ward against illness for one of your elderly neighbors? This is the time to select the primary purpose for your ward.

Picking The Area

Take the map that you marked up during your walk. Connect any common points you see (for example, connect up the "peaceful" areas you marked on your map, or connect any points that have a common theme). What kind of shape does it have? Does it remind you of any popular symbols? Can you use the general shape of the area to generate a sigil or symbol that represents the area? What area(s) would most benefit from your rock wards?

Here is an example of how I created a sigil from a fictional city map I found! Obviously, play around with this idea until it makes sense to you. You can connect up different routes, or perhaps create a border around the areas that feel safest to you.

Now is the time you also want to pick where you want to place your wards - you can use your neighborhood sigil to influence where you place them, or, place them based on intuition or based on need. For example, placing a rock ward at the end of the noisiest block, or in the middle of the block that has the most number of children in the area.

Creating and Using Your Sigils/Symbols

Now, you want to develop symbols or sigils for your purpose. You can use any method you’d like! You may wish to incorporate your neighborhood sigil into each one you create, but ultimately the design is up to you. This is also the point where you would “charge” your sigil, with whatever method you see fit - as long as the design, intention, and charging method makes sense to you, that’s all that matters!

Painting Your Rocks

Finally, onto the fun part!

Now, you could simply paint your sigils on your rock and call it a day. Or, you could paint your sigil, and layer a more “mundane” piece of artwork on top of the sigil, leaving the sigil hidden underneath. This technique works best if the “mundane” artwork connects with the ward’s purpose in some way (for example, if your ward is for protection against nosy neighbors, you could paint eyes; or if your ward is for health, you could paint green colors, or even a red cross). I definitely recommend this “layering” method of painting your rocks so no one in your neighborhood ends up reporting any “suspicious looking rocks” with “satanic symbols” on them to your local Facebook groups!

Materials

  • acrylic paint
  • rocks
  • paint brushes
  • toothpicks (optional)
  • paint markers
  • outdoor/water-proof sealant such as Mod Podge: Outdoor

Instructions

  1. Lay out your rocks and other materials
  2. Seal your rocks with a coat or two of your sealant before you begin painting. This is an important step, since rocks are porous and will suck up any paint you try to apply!
  3. Paint your rocks to your heart's content! If you are layering paint on your rocks, please make sure each layer is dry before painting the next.
  4. Once your rocks are completely dry, seal them up with your outdoor/water-proof sealant so they don't get damaged in the elements.

Lastly, take another trip through your neighborhood to place your rocks. Converse with the neighbors if you feel inclined, and make double-sure of the locations you chose for your wards. I recommend taking regular walks throughout your neighborhood to check on these wards, and make sure they’re doing their job. You may wish to refresh the wards with a new coat of paint, or replace them with something new if the situations within the neighborhood change.

Ultimately, magic is what you make it, especially when you live in a big city. Warding your neighborhood and showing care for the people that live there is one of the many ways you can connect to your neighborhood on a deeper level and feel more connected to your practice locally.

A simple warding charm for my front door

After listening to @breelandwalker's podcast episode about home warding, I wanted to try out an idea I've had for a while about a warding charm for my front door using stinging nettle. Warding my whole house isn't something I have the energy for right now, but I enjoyed working this little spell to give myself a little peace of mind. Please listen to the episode if you haven't (Hex Positive, Ep. 024 - Warding A Witchy Home) because she goes into detail about what home wards can and can't do, how to work them, etc. All very good information!

Also please note that I don't have a lot of experience and I haven't tested this spell before, but I wanted to share it anyway and in the future I'll update the post with any insights or experiences that might come up.

For this spell I used: - a small drawstring bag (mine was crocheted by my grandmother some years ago) - dried stinging nettle - one clove of garlic

I started by gathering my materials, then centered and grounded myself. I cleansed the immediate space around me as well as the bag (lately I've enjoyed burning dried juniper for this purpose), then took a pinch of the dried nettles and held it in my hands, asking the plant to please assist me in protecting my home from anything or anyone seeking to cause harm, while allowing friends and family and anyone else who we invite or welcome to our house safe passage through the front door. I visualized a powerful patch of tall nettles growing in front of my house, around the door, and wrapping around the door handle. I also visualized any person or entity seeking to cause harm feeling prickles and itching upon approaching the house or touching the door handle, and them retreating from the house. Then I imagined the nettles drawing back and allowing friends and family to come to the door safely. I charged the nettles with this intention and placed them in the bag.

I did much the same thing with the garlic but the visualization that came to me was more like a glowing golden light encompassing the door. Then I also put the garlic into the bag, closed the bag, and held it in my hands while charging it with my intention more strongly, holding gratitude for the plants for assisting me in the working. I then hung the bag on a nail above my front door (on the inside), placed my hands on the door, and visualized the nettle patch and golden light one more time. To my surprise the imagined nettles kind of decided by themselves to grow all around my house and garden, even around my garden shed, though I didn't specifically ask them to, which to me was a lovely sign that the nettle spirit was eager to help me. These days I usually close my spells by saying "make it so" because I'm obsessed with Star Trek, then I reversed my grounding and centering.

Please let me know if you try it out! I haven't worked with nettles much in my magic so far, but I can't wait to get to know them more intimately as summer rolls around.

Hey there, fellow witches-in-training! Ready to learn how to fortify your energetic boundaries and protect yourself from unwanted vibes? Let's dive into the magical world of warding and shielding—essential skills for any budding practitioner. Here's the lowdown:

🌿 What is Warding?

Warding is like setting up a magical barrier around yourself or your space to keep out negative energy, entities, or influences. It's your personal energetic security system, designed to maintain harmony and protect against psychic intruders.

🔮 How to Ward:

  1. Clear Your Space: Before warding, it's essential to cleanse your space of any lingering negativity. You can do this through smoke cleansing with herbs, sprinkling salt, or using sound vibrations with bells or singing bowls.
  2. Set Your Intention: Decide what you want your wards to accomplish. Are you focusing on protection, privacy, or something else? Be clear and specific about your intentions.
  3. Create Your Warding Tools: This can include crystals, charms, sigils, or even visualization techniques. Choose whatever resonates with you and feels most empowering.
  4. Activate Your Wards: Place your chosen tools around your space or carry them with you as needed. Visualize a protective barrier forming around you, reinforcing your intention with each breath.
  5. Reinforce Regularly: Warding isn't a one-and-done deal—it requires regular maintenance and reinforcement. Check in with your wards periodically and adjust them as needed.

🛡️ What is Shielding?

Shielding is like putting on a magical suit of armor to deflect negative energy and psychic attacks. It's all about strengthening your energetic boundaries and maintaining your inner peace amidst external chaos.

🌟 How to Shield:

  1. Ground Yourself: Connect with the earth's energy by visualizing roots growing from your feet into the ground below. This helps you stay rooted and centered in your power.
  2. Visualize Your Shield: Imagine a bubble or aura of protective light surrounding you, extending several feet in all directions. Envision it as impenetrable and invincible, repelling negativity like water off a duck's back.
  3. Set Your Boundaries: Intend for your shield to only allow in positive energy while blocking out anything harmful or intrusive.
  4. Maintain Awareness: Stay mindful of your shield throughout the day, especially in situations where you feel vulnerable or overwhelmed. Adjust its strength and size as needed to suit your surroundings.

Keep in mind, both warding and shielding are highly personal practices, so feel free to experiment and find what works best for you. Trust your intuition, stay grounded, and know that you have the power to create and maintain your own sacred space. Stay magical, my friends! 🌌✨

Apologies if you've already answered this...

I know you do a lot of extensive warding for your home. What differences have you noticed between a warded and an unwarded living space? I imagine you get fewer negative vibes and shadows and maybe a bit better luck, like a household appliance lasts longer than you'd expect it to. Or is it something else entirely?

Thanks for your time, Bree :)

Avatar

This is an excellent question and one that doesn't get asked enough, I think. There's always the ubiquitous Ward Your Space advice, but I see very few conversations about the difference in feeling and experience in an unwarded home. (Because after all, there are tons of non-witchy homes out there that don't have wards.)

Personal experiences ahead.

For me personally, it's like the difference between a window that's open to the outside and one that has a screen in it. It's very possible that nothing bad or unwanted will come through the window, but even if you don't have like a raccoon or a wholeass person trying to sneak into your house, you might still get bugs and you're still somewhat open to the elements. So the ward acts like a filter. It won't keep out absolutely everything, but it helps.

The other comparison I can make is an unlocked door. You know, that anxious feeling you get when you're away from home or you hear a weird noise and suddenly all you can think of is did I remember to lock the door? When my wards are threadbare or being actively tested from the outside, that's the feeling I get. Like I left the door unlocked overnight or left a window open when it's about to pour down rain.

So it's mostly a feeling of security.

But in my case, there are also layers in place to take care of other problems. Disruptive energy, unwanted visitors, bad luck, illness, intruding spirits, and baneful or unhelpful magic, among other things. So, compared to other places I've lived or visited, there is a somewhat lower frequency of avoidable accidents, general misfortune, and garden-variety Weird Shit. It's a process I've refined over many years and several homes to try and account for as many controllable variables as I can.

We still have problems, we still get sick, things still break, there's still trouble and disagreements and frustration like there is in every home. Because we're still human and Life Still Happens. But things also seem to take care of themselves in a way. We take care of our home and it takes care of us.

And if you're wondering whether it's jarring when I travel and stay in hotels or other people's homes that don't have the same protections in place - IT IS. But it's really no more troublesome than sleeping in a strange bed.

Confusion and misdirection spell jar

Many people will do tarot readings on you, whether you know about them or not. So lets throw off some salty hoes and confuse the ever loving fuck out of them! This spell is similar to a decoy jar, and it is used to create confusion and misdirection in any sort of divination that is being done about you without your consent.

What you will need:

  • Jar or container of choice
  • Yarrow - Banishing  (properties : banishing, death, courage, psychic powers)
  • cloves: banishes hostility/negativity, used for protection.
  • black peppercorn: banishing negativity, protection from evil.
  • Paper with sigils correlating to your intention
  • Some sort of reflective object to bounce the reading off of you
  • Teeth for defense
  • Any sort of baneful ingredients you enjoy to give them a little punishment for trying to divine about you
  • Black salt(regular works fine) to protect you from prying eyes.

Process

  1. Cleanse your jar with your preferred method
  2. Fill it with the physical ingredients
  3. Write on a piece of paper, or say this out loud whichever you prefer

“Curiosity will kill the cat and no amount of satisfaction can bring it back. Anyone who tries to divine me in hopes of an upper hand will get back only nonsense and a prick back. Your tarot will turn against you, your bones will break, your runes will never fall into place. Your scrying and divination will only show your own ugliness. May this spell confuse and blind those who wish to spy on me

  1. Write your sigils on the back of this paper, activate it by dabbing oil onto it, i used yarrow oil
  2. Seal your jar with black wax and string

What is Warding? The How-Tos and Methods

As I stated in my post on protection. Protection is necessary in the world we live in as it is just a fact of life. It's important spiritual hygiene

Warding will keep negative entities out of your space, negative energy will be kept at bay, and block spells and psychic attacks against you/your home.

Warding is a defensive type of protection magic. You can also do baneful wards. Those are an offensive and defensive type of magical protection.

Warding can be done physically by shielding as well as done within the property and home. I never recommend just one protective ward in case one fails. However this will depend on your lifestyle and what you feel you need. If you are someone who is an online figure you'd probably want more protection. Same if you work in retail, those dirty looks from customers are like daggers.

Here are some methods

For your Space

Energy - Visualize a powerful bubble of protective light of any colour coming from the core of your being. Imagine it encasing your space and solidifying into a protective barrier around your space. Unbreakable, bendable and sold against anything hitting against it. This can take up a lot of energy. I suggest tethering this ward to a crystal tower of either quartz or selenite. Selenite is self charging and cleansing, still will need to be refreshed. You can borrow energy from energy sources to do this.

Guardians - Create a house guardian to guard your home or space from negative energies. Use a any object, enchant it with your intention, and keep it in a safe, permanent place. Feed it weekly with energy or offerings.

Jar - Create a traditional witches bottle or a intuitive bottle of your choice.

Sigils - Create a sigil to protect yourself or ward your space. When creating it to ward your space give it directions on what you'd like it to do during creation. That intent will help it do its job.

For the Self

Energetic Shielding and Energy Armor - Energy shielding and armour are very much like making protections and wards around your home, they're made with the energy you manifest within yourself or if you are someone who has low energy it can be borrowed from energy sources. You can throw them up together or just either or.

Energy Armour is created like so. Ground, center, visualize if you can or will it into being this energetic armour (can look like any sort of fictional or fantasy armour) surrounding you from head to toe. I like to give it an element, like fire to burn away any negativity coming my way. Get creative. I personally like to incorporate 4 main elements, lastly with spirit to recycle back energy to me during the day.

Energy shielding is created similarly. Instead, visualize or will into being a bubble. Can look like anything you want. This is created similarly to the armour. The difference is this is a bubble and you can expand your shield to push others away from you energetically while the armour is more skin-tight.

I suggest you bring these wards down when you no longer need them at the end of your day. They drain energy regardless of recycling. Ground and recenter after to return any borrowed energy.

Baneful wards

Baneful wards are wards that have a bit of a spicy kick to them. It can be a jar full of string, baneful herbs and sharp objects that capture any spirit or negative energies into your jar. Tangles them up so they cannot get unstuck like a spider's web, being harmed in the process of crossing you. Could be a labyrinth ward you programmed into an object, where they get stuck in this never-ending twisting turning labyrinth forever. Can be a mirror ward placed on top of your energetic ward, a reflective front to bounce back anything sent your way. That's a great way to layer wards just in case something snuck past the mirror for whatever reason.

You can also ask your ancestors/deities/spirits for aid to throw it back at their face 10 fold if you have a great relationship with them. I'd still offer them a nice offering for the help though.

The possibilities are literally endless and that's the fun part with baneful wards. Creativity is in your hands.

Can I Over Ward?

Absolutely, it's horrible. The energy feels dead, can no longer do divination and you feel trapped in life. I'd first ask your divination method of choice or spirits if you are cursed before you go tearing down any wards because that's a mistake you do not want to make.

If you over ward try taking down a single-layered ward or rework the heavy-hitting one you have currently going. Never fully take down all protections at one time as that leaves you vulnerable.

Open up your wards, banish your space of that gross stagnant energy and cleanse your space. Once you do that try inviting some good vibes back in. Try singing, dancing, listening to music, anything really to lift those vibes and get that stale energy moving again.

Blessings!
